This is the first time I've been here and, it will not be the last. My buddy and I decided to try some salmon fishing during the late season spawning run. The marina was easy to find, even in the dark. We fished from 9pm until 7am the next morning. The pier was loaded with people making an attempt at the same quarry. Upon pulling up to the gate, we noticed a sign saying that the printer wasn't working which meant, no receipt. To launch the boat costs $20, which I honestly thought was a bit on the pricey side but, I'm not familiar with fishing in a harbor like this. It's possible that this is commonplace. We didn't want to pay and have no proof of payment. We didn't want to come back to a unwarranted ticket after a long night of fishing. The call button did not produce any results. There was a sign to call security w/ questions or concerns in which we proceeded to do so. I would also like to state here that, it wasn't very clear where to park while we fished. I did go to the website with no help. Upon calling the security number, a harbor officer came very quickly and was awesome! We found out he was the chief and he proceeded to answer all of our questions. He clarified everything for us and just like that, we were off and running. Parking, as it turns out, was across the street from the ramp. The chief was very friendly and informative. In fact, everyone that worked at the harbor was friendly, smiling and waving upon contact. The security made me feel comfortable and I was made aware of the several cameras being watched. *The website did have streaming cameras that could be accessed. However, only 1 out of 4 showed a picture.* The pier came complete with a fish cleaning station and a kayak launch! There are wave breaks and walls that really help to keep the harbor much calmer than the main lake. Finally, after daylight, I noticed a baitshop and food stands. The baitshop building looked very large. Unfortunately, they were closed and I'm unsure of what the inside looked like. There are several porta potties available at the launch because the virus has washrooms closed for now. The grounds were clean and the garbage cans emptied out regularly. The docks and ramps were in great condition and I saw nothing in disrepair. All in all, it was a great experience and I look forward to coming back.

Very clean, relaxing, and overall a very pleasant experience. It was my first time here, so I wasn't sure what kind of experience i would have since I don't fish or sail, but it's a great area for walking around and talking. Really good ice cream available, and there's another small restaurant with outdoor seating, selling typical American fare. Didn't really have a taste for it, but if I ever come back, I would give it a try. The lighthouse was a bit of a let down, but that probably has a lot to do with my unrealistic expectations. Either way, I highly recommend coming here for a calm and relaxing experience

Fishing from the fishing dock rarely produces anything for me,although now you can fish from the rocks off the board walk around the marina during regular hours at your own risk I know they close at 8 pm. But honestly I have better fishing luck at sandpond lake. now granted you're not going to catch any salmon or brown trout or drum, but I have heard of people catching perch occasionally, they stock it with Pike annually, and with rainbow trouts fingerlings 10in I believe in the spring and fall which at that point I advise you unless you're fishing with children just go down to lake Michigan for the salmon runs make sure you have your stamps. Pretty good Bass fishing here, I have caught 1000% more bass/fish at sandpond than northpoint Marina. All I can ever recall pulling out of North point Marina is one large mouth bass and one Pike that was it now granted I've seen people catch Pike here and there around the boardwalk I witnessed a guy catch a 10 lb brown trout off the end of the fishing dock I've also witness another guy pull out like a 36 inch rainbow trout off the fishing dock other than that I really don't see much come out of there at least off the fishing dock you can see lots of fish just they don't...
