The biggest day-to-day issue Ave students face is the cafeteria and its’ meal plan, which all students must pay for. And no, diagnosed food allergies aren’t good enough to get off the lacking meal plan. It is time for the leaders of the school to change who prepares the food because Valley food service serves the same food items almost every day. For example, pork is served every single dinner, the only difference between Monday pork and Tuesday pork is the sauce used or in the way it is prepared. Also, steamed veggies are literally served every single meal, like what is Valley doing. And to the parents dropping their kids off, Yes, the food served during orientation is good, but it immediately gets worse once you leave your kid, ask your kid how the food is a month into school hahahahahah. My daughter attends Ave Maria University and I couldn't feel better about the quality of education provided and the safety of the campus. The education and personal growth of each student is the number one concern at AMU and this has been demonstrated since our first visit to the school. Drawbacks are the campus is 35 minutes from Interstate 75 in Naples. 25 minutes to shopping and restaurants. 30 minutes to Alligator Alley--which is actually great--easy ride to the east coast of Florida. Read moreHad the unfortunate experience of running into a group of students from Ave Maria University at a local ropes course park. They were loud and obnoxious, and went ahead of some of our family members, separating we parents from our ten-year-old son and young daughter, which became a serious problem when our children were later stranded. I’m a Catholic, and these students are not exhibiting anything near Catholic ethics as I know them to be. Let’s hope they are new incoming freshmen on an orientation that will have better morals instilled in them shortly. Perhaps better to train them before releasing them...
