The Pub & Grill at Ave Maria — Restaurant in Immokalee

My parents go to this place often, since buying a home in Ave. My family flew in to visit them today with my aunt and uncle, and we decided to stop for dinner at the pub. My parents always enjoy their experience there, even though they have several friends that refuse to go anymore because of negative experiences they’ve had. We understand why now! Our kids got their food relatively quickly and then 40+ minutes went by before our food came. The kids had been finished eating for quite some time before our food came out. No one came to pick up their plates so they just sat there the whole time. The waitress did not come to check on us at all or explain what was taking so long. When our burgers all finally came, all of them were so burnt they were inedible. My uncle got his first and mentioned it. We were so hungry at this point that we just kept the burgers but as the rest came, they were all awful. We mentioned it to the server but my mom ended up speaking to the owner just to let her know. She came over to check and just seemed like she was not bothered by it at all. She just stood around while we tried to explain the situation and couldn’t seem to make a choice. She said she’d “take care of it”… then we sat around waiting for her to come back. At this point we’d be at the restaurant so long that we just wanted to leave. She eventually sent our server back over with a “discounted bill” for almost $130 dollars. She really should have personally come back instead of sending her poor server back to deal with this. The only food that was some what edible, and not even good, were the kids two orders of fish and chips and my parents two beers. My dad went to get the other owner to explain, and had him come to our table. He also did not seem phased by it and was trying to check out the food to decide what to charge us. He could not understand how bad the food and service truly was and was quite argumentative. My family was frustrated and when my dad tried to explain the situation he repeatedly said things like “ok, relax” etc to my dad. I jumped in a couple of times asking him to stop saying that and to just try and listen to what my dad was saying. He finally was basically just like fine, leave (without paying). We got up to leave and on the way out he followed us to our car and called my dad a “tough guy” and said to never come back- which was definitely our plan after this awful experience.

He should not work in customer service/hospitality. My family RARELY complains but this food and service was completely unacceptable. The incompetence from the owners was unbelievable. I recommend avoiding this place...

Im very sad to have to write a review thats not good but i also feel like its needed for safety reasons as well. I went yesterday to this place and absolutely loved it but i cant say the same about today. i went today as since i loved the place the first time i went and i have to say the food itself is not bad at all its really good but the water they gave me just didn't taste right and when i asked again to have the water changed she came back with different water but still taste and smell not so good and honestly ruined the appetite then when my pancakes came out and i poured the syrup it came out liquidy at first then chuncky which doesn't seem normal. On top of all that me and my boyfriend being college students we ordered one coffee to share but then the lady comes out two two cups and a jug of coffee saying it would be easier for us since we are sharing. we thought it was a kind gesture but come to the bill she gave us "bottomless coffee" but i did not get bottomless coffee she never refilled ,nothing. Th server ended up charging us more for something we didn't order. Being that we are college kids struggling with money is why we ordered the cheeper option to share and in the end my boyfriend choose not to tip for the experience. As we were leaving we hear the lady who was named Maria Jose B talking so rudely and loud towards another worker about us and also how we didn't tip having whoever was in there look at us. we couldn't tip as she made us pay more for the coffee which also tasted very watered down. Over the past 2 years every visit has become more and more disappointing. The last visit this week was so horrendous that I am required to leave this review so no more families waste their money at this establishment! On a slow Thursday evening my wife and I sat down as a table of 2. We ordered waters, 1 beer, and 1 coke followed by a starter of nachos, 1 salad, and 1 pizza. First, the beer came out 10 minutes after all the other drinks arrived and was dreadfully flat. We recieved the pizza first before the nacho appetizer, it came out in record time at just over 90 minutes! 10 minutes later the nachos and salad were served; the nacho cheese was stone cold and the salad was missing the sourdough crutons, 1 of its only 4 ingredients. Before the food arrived there was no communication of the appetizer delay or any wait time; we couldn't even find our waitress anywhere and she didn't introduce herself. After the food was served no waitress or server ever checked in on us. After waiting for 30 minutes for any waitress (They were literally all in the back) we asked for the check and left. This establishment has consistently poor service and low-quality food with comparatively high prices! It is embarrasing and ridiculous that Ave Maria can't get a decent, I'm not even asking for good, pub in such an affluent neighborhood; the demand is here.
