20 years strong going here , and love it. I have seen it renovated to its full potential and its great. The little store is upgraded and nice and you can rent kyaks too. There is a hose for boat wash-down or whatever, and two clean port-a-potties. Fishing is decent but really not a good area for kids because of the boats in and out and the hang ups close to shore--you need to be casting out into the channel for success. Read morei love coming to this place. i usually come here to when i walk my dog or just want to relax. the pavillion & parking are higher up on the hill, while the dock & water are lower on the hill.
the pavillion is mostly clean & that also goes w/ the park as well, w/ lunch tables scattered around. there is also a trail that goes along the Mattawoman Creek where you can get good photography & more views of the creek.
