One bite, everyone knows the rules…
The pizza is a 7.1 out of 10 on the “One Bite” scale. The taste is there as the fresh cheese is phenomenal but the reason it couldn’t go higher is that the flop factor is way too much for my liking. Pizza to this degree should be cooked well done with zero flop especially being made through a wood/brick oven. The sauce is a little sweeter than most so if you don’t like sweet floppy pizza, this place isn’t for you.
A not so great thing about this place is that it has an incompetent staff. They have no idea what they’re doing over the phone or in shop, have no idea what’s on their menu, and they make up prices based on what they are feeling that day. One day they give me a fair price on extra sauce I order and the other day they overcharge. They also changed the final price for my order when I went into shop for pickup from what the final price was said to me over the phone. I had exact change and I wasn’t able to purchase my order until later on. Never have exact change because they will switch the price on you last minute. I asked the kid in charge or as he said “the manager” if he can give me less sauce with the order so I could pay with the money I had on hand and he rudely declined. I wasn’t happy with that response but hungry and unwilling to debate anymore, I caved and had to get my credit card all the way back home. Overall, OBO gets a 2 star rating for terrible customer service and okay pizza, but what makes this 3 stars is the absolutely incredible, smooth, tangy, all around fantastic...
Read moreI really like this place however today I was very disappointed when I placed an online order and received an email confirmation at 1:11 p.m. I was waiting on my order to arrive, when I checked my emails, there was a email at 1:35 p.m. stating that my order was cancelled. It also stated if I wanted an explanation to call the store. Upon calling the store I was informed that this is a known issue and OBO Indian Head does not deliver until the evening. I was also told that the manager has been informed but there has been no change to the website to stop the option of online orders prior to when drivers are available. This is very frustrating and there is no compensation at all to the customer with the exception that you can go in to pick up an order and be charged a second time. I was told that the first charge will be reversed in a day or two. This is not cool, I understand that the online ordering process is a third party but how do you keep customers after something like this has happen? The food is great and if you are going to pick up the order there should be no problem, my complaint is in regards to the online ordering system and lack of compensation to customers in regards to a...
Read moreBest pizza, period. Update... Still the best! Personally love the Dionysius Pizza for a basic goto ( Pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, peppers, onions, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese) but after a long bike ride will sometimes indulge in the carnivorous Hercules ( Gyro meat, steak strips, meatballs, salami, sriracha hot chili sauce, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese). Try any of the pizzas, even a simple pepperoni. The wood fired brick oven crisp the crust perfectly. The gyro sandwich is good to me, but to be honest I've not had a lot of experience with these (think you could put their tzatziki sauce on a shoe and it would taste good!) Sides ... the wings are ok, but nothing earth shattering. Again, for anywhere in Southern Md, the best Pizza is at Obo's of Indian Head. (I'd guess better than most places in the DC area as well, but I haven't tried every...
