Our family lived there in the 80’s and 90’s, we lived there until 2023 (20 years). It was nice until a new group of members decided to hire a strict management company. The board, the same group of people, shuffling in and out of the board, so as to keep power which they will lie and cheat to keep. They created numerous governing documents with strict rules with HIGH FINES (using it as a source of revenue), changing them daily mostly based on their own pet peeves, making it hard to know what is ‘legal’ and what isn’t. When they say they restrict pets, they mean “no paws on the ground”, “tie up your pet to your trailer”, “no barking”, etc.The infrastructure has not been well maintained so any new and existing members will be saddled with large special assessments to pay for it all. While the park looks good during what they call “the season”, during the summer it is left to the elements even though members continue to pay. As a member, you pay for the land and the unit, you pay dues and taxes, but they will not allow you to be at your property for three months of the year (presumed during the summer). The wind brings piles of sand in that members are responsible to remove, trees and plants die presumably because they don’t get enough water. People there are nice until after you purchase and until you have an opinion different than theirs, you will be ostracized publicly. Those in the clique provide glowing reviews, but leave out the other side of that coin. Sometimes this kind of living works for some folks, if so, this is your place. If you don’t want to spend your retirement living in political chaos, this is not the place to purchase. Renting there might be the way to go, but even then, it is a crap...
Read moreGreat place! Immaculate, manicured grounds. You can stay for only nine months, a policy that keeps the happy resort feeling of the place. Generally the folks are nice residents who are friendly. Most are very active retirees; seems most were of white collar professions. Half or maybe more than half are snow bird Canadians. This resort is full of on and off site activities during the snow/rain bird season. Two pools (one a salt water pool), jacuzzi, saunas, volleyball, billiards, horseshoes, pickle ball (like a tennis-ping pong fusion), shuffleboard, golfing practice areas, and centers with equipment for various crafting hobbies. It's a very short walk over to all the fun and restaurants at Fantasy Springs Casino (my fav are the concerts). WONDERFUL UPDATE of Feb. 2021: In compliance with CA Civil Code 4715, the resort has initiated a moderate pet policy--only smaller dogs allowed which is reasonable given the small size of the units, and a cat is fine. Keep your pet on your property, not to be in common areas. For details and a pet form, see the office. Forgot to mention that the park has beautiful views--mountains, city lights at night, and the Colorado River which is piped in and circulating around the park in a very tastefully designed river with large beautiful fish; it swells to pond dimensions here and there with pretty arched bridges that take you to the...
Read moreTop Shelf RV Resort +55 Community, 9 mth seasonal occupancy ISRV has brought it's pet policy in compliance with CA regulations. It's quite restrictive though as the resort never intended it to be pet friendly, so infrastructure is not available for off-leash, or even walking within the park, only on the owner's lot.
Remember this is a 'seasonal' RV park, which falls into a special taxation bracket in CA and that is what keeps prices more reasonable. As an owner or renter, volunteering is part of how the resort is beautified and maintained on a seasonal basis. Owners can pick any 9 mths of the year to stay as well as landlords can only rent for that...
