This is a gorgeous spot but I must warn you that there is a massive staircase with hundreds of steps to get down to the falls & back up to the parking lot. This is not fair the faint of heart, small pets or young children. The views are spectacular! You can walk right down & touch the water. There are several deck viewpoints, though a few were closed for construction when we were there is September 2021. Enjoy!

Potawatomi and Gorge falls share an entrance and while they have separate parking areas, it's easy to just walk from one to the other. I liked gorge falls more and the overlook was better and allowed you to see it fully. The trail is pretty flat and only 600 feet to the falls. There is an overlook towards gorge falls that gives you a more "straight on" vantage point.

The Potawatomi Falls were pretty, but they kind of disappointed us. The stretch of road the Potawatomi Falls are on has multiple falls viewing locations. We enjoyed the Rainbow Falls in this area much more. The Potawatomi Falls were listed on the sites of best U.P. waterfalls, but the Rainbow Falls never mentioned on the lists

Nice little spot to take a walk and enjoy the falls…Yes, the trees might be starting to get in the way a little bit, but it’s nature and that’s what makes it beautiful. Your don’t necessarily need to see the falls as the sounds are even better. I will always tell anyone, the UP is best in the fall with the amazing colors.

This waterfall is viewed from a platform and a bit obstructed by trees. But man is she beautiful. I went early spring after quite a bit of rainfall so she was roaring. While it is a short hike the stairs were pretty rough to get up and down.

Unfortunately these falls are only viewable from a platform and the trees in front of it have grown up enough to block the view. Still pretty but difficult to view in their entirety.
