Nice facility although too small to bring in serious talent. And yikes, the Kayenta artsy-fartsy folks are just too much to take at times.
Went to see a play several months ago. Equity actors from outside the local area were a step or two above the local folks. It seems that way too many local folks think they have talent, but should not be on stage In any case, the play itself was pretty strange. It had just one theme that was obvious to the audience after a few minutes. Even though everyone knew where it was headed the play dragged and took forever to play out. Clearly, it is a play not likely to be seen at too many, if any, other venues.
If that was not enough, then after the play we were "treated" to a surprise Q&A and "lecture" on the play by the authors (wow, bad theatre followed by the writers trying to explain themselves) and then the artistic views of a local Kayenta resident that treated the audience as though it knew nothing about theatre. It was way too much! The audacity was outrageous. Even though we were seated in the front row we finally escaped after about 15 minutes of the post play "lecture." Once we got to the lobby we noted a number of others had followed our lead and escaped as well. We heard many comments about how rude it was to impose their views on the audience and how bad the play was.
Then more recently, we saw the newest (younger ladies) local version of the Taffetas singing songs from the 1950s. While that was a fun evening and the group had a decent sound, they did not have much variation on their theme and trying to be cute has a limit. (All the songs seemed to have that same "Mr....

The location is quite far outside of St George so plan ahead in driving. Driving through Santa Clara is fun at night during the holidays with festive lights asking the route. Be cautious, the speed limit changes several times and we saw local law enforcement pulling over people.
Also coming at night it is DARK! The town had few if any street lights which made finding the parking lot and building a challenge. Thankfully our car navigation got us close although we ended up parking in the wrong place and walked farther than necessary. This is why I knocked off a star...
