I recently visited this location for a date night and participated in a few activities. I began with a visit to the planetarium, followed by exploring the exhibits. The planetarium presentation was quite informative, although I believe some updated videos and more comfortable seating would enhance the experience. Tilting my head back to view the presentation was somewhat uncomfortable. However, the two presenters demonstrated genuine passion and delivered the information in an engaging manner, which I truly appreciated. It significantly enhanced the show's enjoyment. As for the exhibition, it might benefit from incorporating more art, potentially through collaborations. Nevertheless, the displayed art was certainly worth seeing, as I was surprised by the innovative use of canvases. Outside, the campus features a replica of an old town, complete with a general store, a clock shop, and a woodshop, which was a highlight of my visit. It felt like stepping back in time, which I found quite fascinating. Fortunately, I had additional activities planned, as the initial ones were completed relatively quickly so try not to have your day planned on just visiting the museum unless it's just a quick delight. Thank you for the...

On Thursday August 22nd my wife, daughter and myself decided to visit here because we we went here about 30+ years ago and wanted to see it again. We drove about 70 miles. When we got there we were told that the Sharp home was only open on special occasions so needless to say we were disappointed but we understood. However, Tina was so accommodating that she told us they would give us a private showing. I'm in a wheelchair so Matt their maintenance man actually pushed me all around and he was a wealth of knowledge which was very refreshing! While Matt was with me, Rebecca took my wife and daughter upstairs to describe everything to them up there. She was very sweet! When we came back out one of my wheelchair rubber tires came off and Matt didn't hesitate to fix it with his bare hands! He was incredible! Then at 3 o'clock they had a planetarium show that another Matt was in charge of and he did the show for us even though we were the only ones in there! He was a very good presenter with great knowledge of the planetarium show! Thank you all, you truly made our day! We Will never forget...

A Wonderful Visit to the Ella Sharp Museum!

My wife and I recently visited the Ella Sharp Museum to see the traveling exhibit on Julia Child, and we had a fantastic time. The exhibit was fascinating and well put together, offering great insights into Julia Child's life and her incredible impact on cooking. We also took some time to explore the stationary museum exhibits on the history of Jackson, which, while brief, were very interesting and gave a nice snapshot of the local history.

We decided to skip the wildlife exhibit this time, but we will not checking it out on a future visit. It was just not us. The museum grounds looked absolutely beautiful, and we can't wait to return during the summer to fully explore them when the weather is warmer. It’s clear that the outdoor spaces offer a lot of potential for leisurely walks and enjoying nature.

Unfortunately, we missed out on the planetarium due to timing, but that just gives us another reason to come back. Overall, the Ella Sharp Museum is a charming and enriching place to visit. We’re looking forward to...

I used to work here about 15 years and it was full of history and art. Now it's sort of a hands on kids museum or something. I was really disappointed. I mean if you are interested in that, then it will be fine for you. The Andrew's Gallery used to be beautiful and now there are fallen labels, blue sticky marks and the whole place needs painting. While my son enjoyed the dino exhibit for about 5 mins (lots of rubber on the ground and it smelled), I was brokenhearted to see the history gallery was GONE. Seems like a museum that is missing is identity. I'm giving it 2 stars because Ken at the front desk is a gem.

Very strange & disappointing visit. I drove a great distance and paid $10 for the Planetarium, which was told would start at 4pm. Arrived at 3:55 and tried both entrance doors twice and found them locked. A man finally comes and unlocks the door at 4:04 and tells me I'm late and missed the presentation. He wanted to argue with me when I told him I had been trying and knocking at both doors for 10 minutes, which he said "no way". He was very confrontational. I just walked away. Very strange man and his demeanor. I would suggest not supporting this venue.
