Had a nice time at the museum with the kids. Early March is a bit cool and the garden was not at its full potential, but it'll be great in a month or so. We hope that the museum is able to bring back the farm animal experience soon. So many kids don't get that experience unless it's through an organization like the Ag Museum and it's important for them to have that. We're still sad about the Museum's loss due to the fire, but hopeful that the farm animals will be back in the future. The Print shop is a fun learning experience for kids and they love shopping at the General Store. The Aviation exhibit is very cool and this museum is kept up well. The Masonic Lodge is interesting to me because many of the men in my family are Masons.

Our Women's Ministry group rented a bldg for our seminar and luncheon. The place was very nice and clean. We had adequate space for vendors and attendee tables. Everything went smoothly. My only issue was the parking. It seems a walk - a -thon was going on, and even though we paid for a facility use, we had to fend for parking. Carrying set up items from across the bridge , back and forth, was a bit far for some of us senior women. I wish they would have allotted spaces close to bldg we rented for our use only. Other than that ....it was okay. We enjoyed our time, cleaned up after we finished, and packed up and made our trek back across the bridge.

Spent 2 hours here during our family road trip. LOTS of information inside the main building; couldn't read it all in one stop! Large collection of tools & info on advancements in Agricultural technology. They had posted a QR code to access a scavenger hunt in the model train displays that our 11-year-old enjoyed tremendously. Live farm animals in the children's barn. The mock town was cool. You can walk through the cotton gin barn and a large cabin, but most buildings are viewed through a door or window. The General Store is their gift shop, and most prices were reasonable. Definitely worth the stop.

This is a museum dedicated to Mississippi's first and oldest traditions agriculture forestry and small town living. Though it may sound boring they honestly have managed to bring a host of interesting exhibits together. Outdoors they have a nature trail and a whole small town from backward in time that they moved to the museum with a long list that have been turned into realistic open attractions such as a general store which is fully stocked and still carries some items in their old packaging as they were back in the day a church a blacksmiths workstation and many other things. They used to have a petting zoo if I recall correctly showing off some of the animal helpers but im not sure if they still do. Inside they have many relics from the bygone age of agriculture such as tractors shacks fully lit planes a small town model complete with working train set and many other things. Right nearby also on pretty much on the same lot is the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame. So if you're in town visiting you can catch two museums. And not to far away have your choice of three different shopping malls and multiple eating places. All in all...

This museum is worth a visit, especially if your with the kids! It has a very interesting intro and explanation of the tools, lifestyles, evolutions of the American Ag & Forestry industry that existed in Mississippi and throughout the south. It has a large... very large, functioning model train collection that has been built to reflect the era of the booming agricultural and forestry industry. That alone will have you and your kids intrigued following the whole model throughout the interior of the main museum building. Interestingly enough the museum has built a full size village next to the museum that one can walk through and actually interact with some of the town buildings such as the "general store" that you can actually walk into and buy items that reflect pieces...

I recently visited the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum and was thoroughly impressed by the engaging exhibits and interactive displays. The museum does an excellent job of showcasing Mississippi’s rich agricultural and forestry heritage, from traditional farming methods to modern sustainable practices. Each exhibit offers a fascinating glimpse into the state's natural resources and the hardworking individuals who have shaped its landscape. I particularly enjoyed the hands-on displays that allowed visitors to learn about crop cultivation, livestock, and forestry management in a fun and educational way. The knowledgeable staff were more than happy to answer questions and share interesting insights about the...
