5 Stars if you white. 1 Star if you black. Feeling wise energy wise especially with a large enough crowd of black people. It felt like they were willing to take our money but not offer up great customer service and harass us throughout our time there about paying the $2 & $3 cover charge for cans and beers per person respectively. And to make matters worse the older white gentleman running the register tried to keep my $30 when it was only a total of $24 owed. I got stopped at my car by the officer on duty there then at the door and when I went up to the cash register about a can opener and then someone came to our reserved area on multiple occasions about the cover charge and to wrap up our time there since they close at 9:00pm. Almost like forcing us out. I get on some level. I've been profiled & subjected onto blatant racism but you don't have to be so obvious about it and not wanting us there or if we are going to pay or not. Our party bought 50lbs. of crawfish and paid the $24 cover charge for all who drunk any alcoholic beverages. Plus, we couldn't bring in any soft drinks but one of our party purchased a 12oz Mountain Dew for almost $3!!! We were cordial. Appropriate and Appreciative. I just saw no need for that at all. To make matters worse Google Maps sends you behind the Crawdad Hole to a completely different area. That needs to be fixed immediately for any...

I want to start this review with a quote from the owner, “Your $500 dollars isn’t going to make or break this restaurant. Wrap it up, y’all need to leave!” We went to this “restaurant” for my wife’s birthday with a few friends. In total we spent just over $500 on food, and it was BYOB which we also had to pay per person for drinking. We weren’t served until 8:30 and then at 8:40 we were given to go boxes and were told “it was a long day, I’m ready to go home” by one of the employees. Then at 8:45, not just an employee, BUT THE OWNER, came over and told us “Your $500 dollars isn’t going to make or break this restaurant. Wrap it up, y’all need to leave!” Amongst many other rude comments. Keep in mind they close at 9. We were constantly harassed by him and his kids who were the employees, calling us entitled, selfish (because we were keeping his staff “late”), approached us with a gun on his hip with his little security guard, then clapped as we left at 9, his little .380 Beretta isn’t intimidating. These people...

If you give this place anything over a 3 star then you obviously didn't eat here or use the bathrooms. If the bathrooms are kept this deplorable, then it begs the question of what condition the kitchen might be kept in as well. The butter must have been cooked in the same jackson water as the crawfish bc the taste was beyond awful dirt. BYOB but pay to bring your own drinks since they don't offer any. Asking for a tip but having zero servers or service is not an accomplishment to boast. All of the "teenage employees" are much too busy socializing. The crawfish tasted like the ground they came out of if you got the ones that weren't already dead before cooking. Rotten wood, flies everywhere, mold and barely an attempt to keep anything clean is disgusting. Last time that we will be using this place even as our last ditch effort for crawfish. Hole in the wall locations are supposed to be great finds, not patched together buildings held together by chewing gum and...

It’s window service. No beer but it’s BYOB. Excellent crawfish, shrimp and all the usual suspect sides. Crawfish are clean, hot, easy to peel and seasoned just right. Shrimp are easy-to-peel as well. Served with a side of cocktail and a butter-like mixture. Corn is good, sausage is good. They have all of the soft drinks. Seating is first come first serve at picnic tables. Small “inside” eating area. Plenty of parking in the Smith Wills lot.

For out-of-towners please note that this establishment is temporarily Closed until 8/30/22. It doesn't mention this anywhere that I could see online so I wanted to save someone a wasted trip. I wish that Google would update reviews and verify if a place is open or not. So I can't rate this place by any way other than word of mouth, can't wait until they reopen and maybe I can update my reviews.

Crawdad hole is the only place in Jackson that I go to get my crawfish fix. It's seasoned just right, crawfish is always fresh and it's not overly salty or spicy at all. I usually order it with potatoes and cajun sausage. Ask for a side of butter, dip your potatoes in butter then take a bite of that along with their cajun sausage and it's like heaven in one bite.
