I have lived at Pocasset Mill Lofts for just about 5 years now and from the moment we moved in until today, I have loved living here! The location is great, you can be in downtown Providence within 10 minutes as well as less than 10 minutes to Garden City Shopping Center in Cranston. It’s an old mill building, having the exposed bricks within our unit to the original floors... it’s gorgeous! Yes the floors can make some noise but it’s an older building and that’s expected (I also use a wheelchair so I know I hear it a bit more lol) Being an individual who utilizes a wheelchair for mobility, I am so thankful for the elevator as well as any help or concerns we have; the management team is helpful and quick to fix the situation. Tiffany and Courtney truly listen and care for our concerns. Recently: The ramp into the building was slippery from the weather conditions outside; without any issues they placed a runner mat on the ramp to assist the traction of my wheels and prevent sliding as well as a runner mat leading to the stairs. When it snows outside the maintenance team shovels the property as well as doorways (and salts the path) making it easier for all. I truly appreciate the hellos the ladies in the office give when we go by on our way in or out. Within our building we have a common space that as tenants we can reserve and utilize for our own personal needs. I have hosted parties, meetings, & done an interview within this space. It’s a great space to use; has a full kitchen as well!! The building also has a rec room with fuse ball and pool table. A community library. A small gym (I see many utilizing this) and a half basketball court that is great when hosting a party in the community room and the guests want to have a little game. I’d refer anyone I know looking for a place to rent to check out these lofts. Each unit is so unique...
Read moreCould not view the apartment that would becoming available because it was still occupied by the resident which is understandable. The property manager handed me over to the leasing agent to go over the info without even offering me a seated section they wanted me to stand at the counter and I felt rushed by both of them. They talked to the maintenance man (not about work) more than they talked to me at first. I told them I had surgery and could not stand to long I needed to sit. The information paperwork was being put in front of me so fast it fell on the floor and she sat there as a signal for me to pick it up. Then I was told I had to get apartment insurance which I would anyway to protect my belongings BUT I also had to get FLOOD insurance which should be their responsibility as owners to protect their property not the resident to do so. The rent does NOT include heat and hot water (not unusual) AND you also have to pay for water and sewers. I am retired now but little did they know I was an assistant property manager/leasing consultant for over 20 years and I would not rush a potential prospect out and I have never heard of a resident paying for flood insurance which is very expensive. And never heard of paying for water and sewers and I worked for 3 different companies and the volume of leases I brought in for the company was high as I treated the prospect and the residents with respect. My thoughts leaving there was as I was treated like that now as a prospect how would I be treated...
Read moreI'm on my second year of living at the Lofts at Pocasset Mill and I love it! The building itself is beautiful - original hardwood floors, exposed brick, high ceilings, and tall windows. It's a convenient location with easy access to highways, grocery stores, restaurants, and other shopping.
Parking can be frustrating at times, but only in the sense that the "good" parking spaces fill up quickly. There is ample parking made available and garage parking at an added cost, so your options aren't lacking, they just might not be convenient at times.
The most impressive feature of the apartments is the care that's taken by the staff. The leasing office team, namely Tiffany and Courtney, are great at their jobs and are really empathetic to your needs. My roommate and I experienced some issues with mice in our unit, and they were quick to partner with our building's maintenance team to help not only catch the mice, but make sure no more would get into our unit. I've lived in other apartment buildings and complexes in Rhode Island and I've never felt more welcomed by the property managers and leasing office...
