Allegory Gallery — Attraction in Johnstown

Ligonier is a lovely town with many great shops, but no trip there is complete without visiting Allegory Gallery. When you walk in the door, you enter a calm oasis. The owners, William Jones and Andrew Thornton, are charming, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the many beautiful beads and jewelry making supplies in their shop, and they're always willing to help you design and complete your own jewelry project. If you're not in the mood to make your own jewelry, you'll find a wonderful variety of handmade pieces to choose from, and lots of other items great for gift giving, or to gift to yourself! This is a wonderful shop to visit if you are a bead artist or looking for ready made jewelry. The shop carries a wide variety of artisan beads ranging from ceramic, polymer, glass, and metal - all very reasonably priced too! No judgment if you’ve never made jewelry but want to learn, it is a very welcoming and inclusive environment. If you can’t make it into town they also have an online shop, you can also message them if you see something you like from their Instagram or Facebook posts.

Allegory Gallery is one of my favorite places to get unique beads, beautiful jewelry and handcrafted gifts (even for myself!) The owners provide a wonderful online community and creative groups as well as fabulous customer service. Allegory Gallery is also where you can get much of Creative Director and artist Andrew Thornton's beautiful and meaningful creations. They also always have an art show going; it's fun to be introduced to artists.
