Route 66 Mural Park — Attraction in Joplin

Plenty of free street parking spaces. Smooth pavement. ADA compliant, accessible. Safe historic downtown spot. Great photo opportunities. No charge to see the art. Murals are awesome, especially if you're Route66 nostalgic as i am. Very cool at night as well. Downtown Joplin is far more vibrant than I thought, it's very clean, great walkability and retail shopping is eclectic. Close to everything in Joplin proper. We stopped by the Mural Park on drive through Joplin. Very simple area with a nice mural painting on side of building. The area may be smaller than it sounds. This is basically the painting (which is nice) on side of building and a small parking lot area next to that wall with photo opportunities. If you are driving through Joplin...consider stopping there to see. If you are considering driving a long distance just for this site...maybe it will not be the only justification for the drive. It's a 10 min stop...
