This evening my son and I attended the 5:40 showing of MI7 at the Paramount Theatre. The theatre is absolutely gorgeous, economical, and comfortable. That being said, I will absolutely never return.
Iâve been going to the movies for more than four decades, and this was easily -EASILY- the worst movie-going experience Iâve ever had. Two rows in front of us was a group of five or six feral children that were dropped off and left unsupervised. They were the most disrespectful and disruptive people Iâve ever encountered in a theater. They were up and down constantly, talking loudly, dancing (?), using their phones, one threw a tub of popcorn at one of the others, and at one point at least three of them were playing what appeared to be a game of tag throughout the entire auditorium. This went on from when the lights went down to the closing credits.
I understand itâs not your place to babysit, however it is your responsibility to ensure the patrons of your theatre can enjoy the movie; we pay hard-earned money to have an enjoyable time, and that is what is expected.
At one point during the movie I stepped out and asked the young man and young woman at the concession stand if there was any way to get control of the situation and was told that something would be said to the children Nothing was done. After the movie, upon exiting, I expressed my displeasure that nothing was done. Apparently they had asked the manager to intervene, but if he entered the auditorium, nothing was done because no one came down to confront them and their behavior wasnât altered in the very least. I asked to speak to the manager and all he could do was mumble a âsorry.â I donât blame the two employees behind the counter as Iâm sure they donât get paid enough for confrontation, however I absolutely do blame ineffective management. The movie and evening were ruined for every other patron in that auditorium.
As I said, I attend movies regularly and have for a long time, and in this time I have noticed a gradual, but dramatic, decrease in attendance. Iâm sure most of this is due to the high cost of tickets and concessions, but a poorly run business will continue to push people away to spend their entertainment dollars...
Read moreEvery time I come to this movie theater I have a bad experience. My first bad experience came when my family and I came to see a kids movies. We notice the movie that was playing was not the correct one playing. It was a scary movie and in the movie the guy was executed..I was very upset that my young nieces had to witness such gruesome violence. We came to see a kids movie.. not a horror movie. we made a complaint to the workers up front and they did nothing. They told us that it was the correct movie. But when the other costumers complained they actually came in the theater to check and realise it was not the correct smh. Second bad experience came when my mom and I came to see a movie. we came appox. 15 mins before the show started. We got our snacks (which were over priced) and grabbed are seats. At first the thether was playing commercials, then the screen went black and we couldn't see anything. We made a complaint to the workers at the front desk about the theater being too dark and the guy stated that he couldn't turn on the lights for us and that we have to seat in the the dark until the movie start. The other guests came in and said the exact same thing..we should not be sitting in a dark theater with no lights because it's a safety hazard! The older lady almost fell because she couldnt see. The movie didnt start on time either. The workers did not have common sense at all. I would never return to this movie theater again. Meadowview Theater gives you a better...
Read moreI recently visited the Paramount Theatre, and I must say it was one of the worst movie-going experiences I've ever had. From the moment I walked in, things started going downhill.
First off, the theater was incredibly dirty. There was popcorn and trash scattered all over the floors, and the seats looked like they hadn't been cleaned in ages. Speaking of seats, they were extremely uncomfortable. The cushions were worn out, and some of the seats were even broken, making it impossible to sit comfortably throughout the movie.
The sound quality was another major issue. It was either too loud or too soft, and there was a constant buzzing noise that was incredibly distracting. The screen itself had visible scratches and smudges, which made it difficult to enjoy the visuals of the film.
To make matters worse, the staff was unhelpful and rude. When I tried to address these issues, they seemed uninterested and dismissive. It felt like they didn't care about providing a good experience for their customers.
Overall, I would not recommend Paramount Theatre to anyone. The combination of poor cleanliness, uncomfortable seating, subpar sound and visual quality, and unhelpful staff made for a truly disappointing experience. Save your money and go to a different theater where you can actually enjoy...
