Such an utter disappointment for the RedBridge shopping center. The store looks much more modern on the outside but inside is so bad in all aspects.
Produce is terribleâŚ.for example, twice this week every potato they had russet or red had sprouts. Potatoes are pretty simple but it is indicative of all the produce quality I have seen so far in this store.
Meat department has a low selection and pretty low quality red meats. Why bulk package everything?
Frozen foods and the dairy selections are obscure and over priced compared to every store in the area.
Actually, the pricing in this store is very strange. Having been in the grocery business, it is almost like they read a manual on profit margins and donât actually understand how to price items to maximize sales while getting the profit blends required by each department and each aisle to make for a profitable grocery business. The prices are 125% to 150% higher than any other store in the area.
I would challenge anybody to shop their normal store and then take your receipt with you to this store to compare the prices. I understand that this store is in an expensive space but this store will fail based on the current consumer experience there. This neighborhood deserves a store that is competitive and well stocked with quality and variety, unfortunately this grocer isnât the one.
Furthermore, the inside of the store looks like you are stepping back into the 1980s. Zero improvement over Lipariâs Sun Fresh. Actually Lipariâs was more appealing inside with better quality, better prices, and better selections.
Do better.
P.S. the quarter full basket of items that was left in the front of the snack aisle today was from me. You will see plenty of that happening based on the first and last two times I...
Read moreThe storefront and facade are absolutely gorgeous. They did a fantastic job of updating the store while maintaining integrity to the original architects. When you walk in the store is very clean and clearly laid out for convenience. There needs to be more cohesion in the interior design- which Iâm sure maybe that is on its way. Like, there is a theme, but maybe more warmth and charm is needed? The lighting is very bad on the eyes. Itâs painfully bright. It really detracts from the store. You will not want to spend more than 5-10 minutes inside, after the out of this world fluorescent lights, and I mean out of this world lights, give you a headache. Lighting is a key component of any store. They also need to invest in new little grocery karts. It does detract from the experience to look down at the handle of your grocery kart and see the remnants of a âTJ MAXXâ logo, but that is up cycling- It just doesnât match the vibe of the beautiful storefront. You have to create a cozy ambience in certain pockets of the store. A perfect example would be how Hen House has ambient lighting around the floral shop. The prices at FARM FRESH are SUPERB! $ They really are competitive and reasonable! đ If youâre in the area, the store is definitely worth supporting! The layout is very convenient; especially if youâre elderly. Super friendly and helpful staff! I just wish they could fix the lighting and create a warmer ambiance in the store to match the...
Read moreGlad to finally have a grocery store back in this space. If the store was well established, I would be knocking off a star for the poor ambiance and layout, but these guys are new to the space so I am cutting them some slack while they "work out the kinks". The dairy selection is a bit meh, but the prices were pretty good. If you guys are reading this, I was specifically looking for heavy cream. I think Belfonte was the only brand offered, and it was like $6 for a small thing of it! I pay less for organic cream elsewhere, so that was a real disappointment. I should probably have checked the Shatto selection better for their heavy cream. I love supporting local brands when I can.
One thing I'd like to highlight is that this store has a GREAT selection of "ethnic" foods for this area. They have a lot of Mexican food staples like dried peppers, and a huge array of Badia spices. They carry tomatillos and fresh peppers at reasonable prices. There were bins with dried jamaica (hibiscus). Yes, I know it's no El Torito or La Michoacana, but this is a lot closer! Well done.
They also had an interesting selection of Asian foods and ingredients.
I look forward to seeing how this store shapes up and evolves to meet our...
