Wheelock Park — Attraction in Keene

Wheelock Park is a hidden gem! This park offers something for everyone, whether you're looking to relax, have fun with the family, or get some exercise. The playground is fantastic for kids, with plenty of space for them to run around. The walking paths are well-maintained, perfect for a peaceful stroll or a jog.

I love the serene atmosphere and beautiful scenery — there are plenty of green spaces for picnics or just enjoying nature. The pond is also a great feature, and I often see people enjoying it with small boats or feeding the ducks.

This park is really in need of some upgrading. Both playgrounds are very neglected. The smaller one with the swings used to have so much more to it and it seems they took everything out instead of replacing them when they broke. The larger playground the structures are broken and haven't been updated in well over 20 years. I have pictures of myself playing on these when I was a child and now my children are playing on the same structures. It's really sad to see it being neglected. It was later in the day and there was only 1 car parked but I didn't see anyone. This is a peaceful park to be alone or share with company. It's very busy in the summer. I know they used to have ice skating rinks in winter. I walked the dog 2x a day thru here(w/baggies!). I've moved out of town though. If your new to Keene w/kids, this is a great place for them to meet new friends in all seasons. No kids well they have adults covered, join horse shoes! Don't forget about camping. My girls...
