This was my second time going here; the first time had less than impressive food, with worse wait staff. I had assumed that my experiance was due to the fact I went at a busy time, and should give it another chance. I went to Mi Jalisco at 4pm, after lunch rush and before dinner. When we arrived, we were politely walked to our seats... And left. About 10 minutes later, our waitress, Isabel, arrived and gave us menus, chips and salsa. Without speaking, she began to walk away. I quickly asked for drinks and some cheese dip as an appetizer. Annoyed, she returned to begrudgingly answer my question about what drinks they had. After getting my drink order, she walked away without another word. My companion and I exchanged glances, but decided to let that go and look over the menu. I picked my meal and began to look at the alcoholic beverage menu, because I saw a sign for Happy Hour at the time I was there. I chose my drink and we waited another 30 min for her to return. I ordered first, requesting no lettuce or tomato, and was audibly scoffed at. My companion also ordered, and the menus were taken from us and she rushed away. I tried, again, to catch her to ask for the drink, but she turned to me and snapped "I'm getting it!". About 20 min later, our food was brought out by another employee, who also did not speak-or even look- to us. My companion was out of her drink at that point, while I had about half of mine. Isabel walked by us and asked if she could refill my companions drink. She came back promptly with the refill and vanished for nearly an hour, long after we had finished our food. Isabel was in a back booth assisting roll silverware, with two other employees near her, with no one helping customers. From my seat, I saw 2 seperate parties come in to eat, wait for a host, and leave after they were not welcomed. A few minutes later, another employee looked into our section, with Isabel and 2 others in the rear booth, and all of the tables obviously done with their meal. I tried to wave him down, but he looked at me and went into the adjoining room. At this point, the 3 other tables near me all had empty plates and glasses, and were looking for the waitress. My companion and I agreed I wouldnt get the drink I had tried to order, and that it would be more worthwhile to buy a dessert elsewhere than to wait another hour... If that soon. At 615, Isabel came back to my table and asked if we wanted refills. I responded that I would like the check, which prompted another scoff at us. She went to the table adjacent to us to hand him his card, and the man- obviously upset about the unreasonably long wait- immediately jumped up and hurried toward the door, the same as the other tables she finally paid attention to. This is the worst experiance I have ever had in any restaurant. I felt that my coming to eat was a huge problem for Isabel, and quite obviously the rest of the employees were unconcerned with our experiance as well. I sat without a drink for over an hour and a half, on top of waiting nearly 45 min after I finished my meal to be acknowledged by my waitress, which ended up being her scoffing at me for asking for a bill. The food was... Not impressive. The 'red sauce' on my burrito was actual, unseasoned tomato paste, with none of the cheese I was told would be on it. I did not touch the 'enchilada', as it was also covered with the tomato paste and seemingly had no fillings inside. On top of me trying to order a mixer and being snapped at, then not even getting it, really rounded the whole experiance as a regrettable waste of time that "would have been better spent at Wendy's". A few hours later, my companion and I began to have stomach pains, and got quite sick with food poisoning. If you are considering dining at Mi...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I were super excited to try this place for it had some decent reviews. We are from out of state so we went to the place that seemed the best but boy, were we wrong. Customer service is awful! I had ordered a Margarita (in fact, twice) but it was absolutely tasteless. When we had asked them to remake it, it had seemed to be an issue but they did the first time around. The second drink tasted the same, like water so we had asked to return it and instead, our waiter told us we had to pay for it regardless. Now, we had never drank the drink and for the rest of the night, our waiter treated us poorly. Never checked on us when we ordered food (the food was okay, nothing special and was not hot on arrival) so we waited ten minutes for an extra plate in which that time, I just went to get one myself. Finally, he came over when we were finished and took our plates and said nothing. Needless to say, the check came with the full price Margarita in which I managed to find the manager to talk about it. Sadly, the manager was just as rude if not, worse! I am not sure what kind of customer service they have in place but he insisted on arguing with us over the drink stating he will drink it himself. I am extremely disappointed in this restaurant and the way they handle their customer service. Food was mediocre and customer service is non-existent. I would not recommend this restaurant at any time. Unless of course, you want mediocre, cold food with a side of awful...
Read moreSadly, I’ve come back to edit my original 5 star review.. I loved this place but they have seriously gone downhill. I’ve probably gone there 20 times and in the last 6 months it’s glaring that there is little effort out into anything. The margs and chips and salsa are fine. The food is definitely an issue though. The guac- wow. It used to be decent, but they are now (I’m pretty sure) putting cucumber in it?? It makes it watery, bland, ice cold and inedible. I don’t know on what planet this is a good idea.
The food comes out alarmingly fast, like maybe 3-5 minutes after you order. Which makes me think they are pulling premade plates out and quickly zapping them. Nothing is melted, it’s way too salty, just a mess. The flavors aren’t awful, but there is something so unnerving about your food coming out lightning fast. That’s fine for a takeout spot but it sucks feeling rushed at a restaurant.
I see a lot of people echoing similar things and I hope they listen. They need to bring back the glory days. It wasn’t amazing food, but it definitely wasn’t bad, and even above average. Such a bummer.
Original review: Really, really delicious. I've heard the service can be iffy there but ours was excellent. Big portions, reasonably...
