Interesting piece of history. Sad that the petroglyphs have not been protected and the weather has worn them down to almost nothing. There is a sketch of what the markings looked like when they were first discovered. But it is very hard to make out the images now. The rock is under a roof. But not much else to protect it. You can wander around the rocks and walk along the pebble beach. But that is about it. There is no parking lot, but most people just park along the road. We walked from the nearby shops. Not much was visible of the old inscriptions but if you took some sand from the beach and dusted the surface much more was visible. The dock you see in the background was then called Koster's dock and was home to a diminishing fleet of family owned commercial fishing boats. Read moreI was so happy to finally get the visit this historic landmark. However I was disappointed to find that the petroglyphs have been mostly eroded away. Some petroglyphs could be made out faintly. I am so sad that the preservation of this history has not been taken very seriously. Surly it is a fine example of Native American culture slipping away from us. The building around the inscription rock is very exposed to the outside elements.
