Kenner Planetarium and MegaDome Cinema — Attraction in Kenner

My two adult children and I were looking for something to do after checking out of our hotel in New Orleans on August 3, 2024. We had about four hours of time between check out and when we were turning our rental car in at the airport. Please Note: The Kenner Planetarium less than TWO miles from where you return your car and the airport. There a couple nice local restaurants nearby that you can grab something to eat as well.

We had no expectations, but it was an above average museum with a number of nice activities for younger children and interesting things related to NASA and Space Exploration. They offer different shows every hour in the Cinema and Ticket prices are affordable at $6.00. The entire staff was welcoming and helpful. This was a fantastic, immersive experience for our school! This place is a hidden gem! Heidi helped us with our questions, plus a special class request. We really were blown away by her hospitality + love for what she does. You can see the same in Kevin + Isabella that were on deck that day! They were genuinely happy to teach + were so patient! The picnic in the grassy area next door was perfect. It was fenced in a set up beautifully! Although they have 6-8 tables, we still advised families to bring blankets in case & Im glad we did. The restrooms behind the chapel were clean + the space was safe to let the kids run around + get energy out. This will be a hard field...

We FINALLY went here! Let me tell you this: If you haven't been here to visit and see some of the shows on space, then you need to get your butt down here! And if you have kids, then show them you love them by making plans to visit this out of this world place! Check out their schedule online and get going! Saturdays only. We had a blast!
