Hands down, one of the best climbing facilities in the southeast. Comparatively, I would say my enjoyment level of climbing at Escalade is the same as when I'm eating a #pubsub. Let me break it down for you: lets start with the delicious fresh baked bread thay each Publix sub is made from. Thats your wall. This wall was built years ago by the best climbers of their generation to be the best training wall period. A better wall than Donald Trumps best contractors could build. And he has the best. Next, the veggies: thats the stuff thats good for you, or something like that. We'll compare that to the amenities that Escalade offers. From youth classes, the best birthday party venue in the southeast, to the prison yard workout station, Escalade offers everything that you could want in a climbing gym. And, my favorite part, as well as most Americans, THE MEAT! We'll call this the routes/boulder problems. The veritable foundation that any gym is based on. You can have the crappiest white bread, but if your meat is good, have at it! Switch that around and you have a sandwich that will have you wishing you had a toilet for both ends. Don't climb at gyms with bad routes! Fortunately, Escalade, equipped with one of the best head setters, a strong staff of setters, and a constant influx of great holds from Catalyst, have perfected the first bite of that Boars head sandwich. Finally, the people. From their coaches, to general staff members, to owner, to setters, they understand the customer experience, and present you with a wonderful time, every time. If you havent visited Escalade yet, do so now. And grab yourself a #pubsub on the way, it'll complete...
Read moreLittle kids are fine there. I'm not much into the sport and was concerned about taking a 4 and 5 year old there because of them being top heavy and possibly falling out of the waist harness. I tried to find mention of or a picture of a little child wearing a harness to see what is was since, again, I don't know the sport, but couldn't find. I decided to try it anyway. So I'm righting this to tell any one else that little kids are put into a FULL BODY HARNESS that clips in at the chest. Good stuff.
The kids, however, didn't care too much for the big walls and mostly played in the kids area for over an hour and half.
The only thing I'm slightly agitated by is the boy was swinging on the hoops one of the dudes came up and snapped at him a little bit unnecessarily. Something about accidentally swinging into the wall even though I was standing RIGHT THERE watching him. Dude, address me! ....and maybe they can chill on that a little too After all, I did sign a waiver that I won't hold them liable. But what do you expect from a bunch of high schoolers as staff.
The young lady up front was cool...
Read moreThis place is really nice when you come during non peak hours meaning a weekday or early. Came here on a Saturday and masks aren’t being enforced and there are empty bottles of sanitizer on the tables to “clean “ your hands with.
Not sure how your supposed to use the bottle when there is only a quarter of an inch of sanitizer in it. The young lady working was busy doing her best but if you can’t enforce your own mask rule. Whats the point?
Need an additional staffer during peak times to enforce the mask requirement and refill sanitizers to keep everyone healthy.
Updating my review….
I have come back several times since my last review and the sanitizer is always stocked very well. Most ppl have vaccines now which is great 👍🏼. I still keep the kids in a mask 😷 just in case. Owner is a considerate man and appreciated the honest feedback I am glad they actually listen, my family and I will continue to come here and recommend...
