GNT Jewelry and Loan Kenosha Pawnshop — Attraction in Kenosha

I've went here numerous times, to get rid of things I no longer wanted. Yes, they can look me up I am definitely a customer here. I went to get rid of a TV that I just won at my job, because I already have 4, and don't need another one. A brand new 40-43 inch smart TV, they wanted to only give me $30-$40 would not even do $50. The TV sells for $155-$200.00 + at Walmart and other stores (check online), so why would I give it to you for $30-$40, that's not even half. So I said I'll pass. As I am getting into my car AWAY from the building in the parking lot, a man says he will buy it from me for more, right now, and I'm like sure. The store associate, comes out and says "no deals on our property the owner said.", I'm in the parking lot, way away from the building. It is a strip mall with 5-6 other businesses in the strip mall, so no they do not own the parking lot, and the parking lot is away from their store. So, not only 1)they were very rude 2) tried to sell a smart tv for $30 when it is worth $155-$200 + 3) but then had the nerve to say no deals on their property when I am not on their property I'm away from their property in the parking lot. I spent quite a bit of money there selling things I did not want and buying things--- but as many times as I have been a customer with them, after what happened today I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE. I'm TELLING EVERYONE I KNOW AND SEE, GO ANYWHERE ELSE TO ANY OTHER PAWN SHOP THAN THEM, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOR, BECAUSE I BELIEVE THAT'S WHY THEY WERE SO RUDE, AND ACTED LIKE THIS. Bought very pretty engagement rings here. Definitely worth the price! The men who work there seem knowledgeable however we had the woman help us. The only one in there. We bought the rings (around $8-$900) and received the receipt and I asked “Did we pay everything?” She said yes we were good to go! Rings would take 3 days to be resized. Ok cool we came in on a Friday! Rings were not done until Wednesday! I gave the woman grace because maybe she forgot it was a weekend? But still her fault for not informing us, weekends don’t count towards the 3 day wait. Okay cool we get a call Wednesday evening that they were ready for pickup! I said ok on my way… this woman said ok the price is $125 and hung up the phone. LMAO WHAT!? My boyfriend then called back and asked why this wasn’t explained to us and her answer? “I don’t know” how unprofessional!!! It seems like she’s a con-artist and was going to pocket the money herself because we were never informed about a “fee” that I would call it since they never even said what the $125 was for. However the man up there settled it and said It was a misunderstanding. Thank you but still yall are foul for that. If the $125 is for resizing I do understand that but I don’t understand why it was never brung up before until the day we had to pick up. My advice would be to check if you owe any more money and their return policy because if they didn’t wave the $125 I was definitely going to return both rings BECAUSE ITS THE PRINCIPAL. Other than that, jewelry is beautiful and price is reasonable. Thanks to the man that resolved it.

I went into this shop to sell some old jewelry I have not worn in years, so I cleaned it all up beforehand in jewelry cleaner that I had at home and brought it here (gold and silver). They immediately took out the gold ring I had and gave me a dirt cheap offer for it. Then the bald guy refused to even acknowledge all the silver I had brought (one bag FULL of vintage and new sterling silver rings and earrings, sterling silver chains, and even the chunky thick Brighton brand sterling silver, and even jewelry with diamond chips in them) and he looked at me and said this is the price for silver right now so you'd need alot....Then continues to stare at me without even attempting to weigh any of the pieces I brought like just me being there was wasting HIS time and the bag FULL of sterling silver wasn't "alot".

All the GOOD reviews for this place are from people who work here or know the employees. They are terrible at customer service and while most places want to actually help you out, this place doesn't give a rats backside about you. I'll go to the shop in IL that my mom goes to since they actually want to work out a deal and BOTHER to weigh everything she brings in, unlike this GNT place who can't be bothered with you and don't respect their customers enough to even weigh more than ONE piece of gold that you bring in because you, the customer, are obviously not worth the bare minimum effort.
