Disc golf review. This is a great course if you live near by. I would not drive out of my to play here but wouldn't skip a chance to play if I am in the area. With that said, should you play this course, expect a nice backdrop of what you would expect from a park in the middle of a city subdivision.
The course is decent for amateurs with a few grip it and rip it holes. Be sure to bring a few expendable discs you won't mind losing in the pond that this course navigates around.
While the holes are not very technical there are a few challenging ones. There are two holes (12 &16) that go over the water and a couple that go along it. I do not recommend going in after any either. The water had a lot of trash in it and it appeared to be stagnant and deep after a few feet out.
The layout of the course seemed poorly design. Some baskets were really close to the next tee pads while others required a hike. There is a faded paper map by the first tee but if you decide not to take a picture of it and reference later you might get turned around at a few holes; especially for a first time play through. Look for the tree sign to 4 or you'll end up at hole 10 first.
Signage is old, beat up or nonexistent. When signs are available, they do have the distances and next tee on them. The tee pads are remarkably short runways and there is only one basket placement leaving fresh looks to be desired.
Overall the course itself is well maintained and garbage is minimal (exception of the pond). Foot traffic early morning on Memorial Day seemed little to none. We saw very few people. It took roughly 90 minutes for four of us to play one round.
Again, play this course if you are in the area or live near by otherwise you aren't...
Read moreThis park is pretty when it comes to scenery and relaxation but, its lacking in safety at the playground. The slides are way too tall for children and they land too high above the ground. The smaller playground needs to be remodeled and created with more safety features. My son was climbing their chain climbing thing to get up to the slide and chipped his tooth on a metal bar. Also, it's kind of grungy and dirty looking at the playgrounds. And there is way too much goose poop around the playground for it to be safe for kids to play. I wasn't impressed. I won't be going to this park for my children to play again unless they do a...
Read moreThis park has baseball, basketball. Tennis, a large flower garden and a disc golf course. The lagoon there is beautiful with 3 bridges going across it.
This over 140 acre park though has seen it's better days. The bridges are in need of repairs and the public restrooms access is inconsistent.
Before a published complaint in the newspaper. The seasonally open restrooms were rarely open in Kenosha's largest and most used park this year.
A positive is that the basketball courts have received private funding to upgrade them. One would think with the annual music concert series there that the city would find ways to make it...
