If you want the full drive-in diner experience this place will take you straight to the 50's. The food is excellent for down home American fare, we're talking about some of the best home style burgers (especially for the price!) That I've encountered and they are real meat, cooked to order, just the right amount of grease to soak into your bun a little, for just a bit of flavor, sooooo gooood! And the chili dog was the best I've ever eaten from anywhere. It was perfect!👌 also because the price was so fair my fiancé and i ordered a few apps to split like fries, poppers (of which they offer both cream cheese and cheddar cheese versions), cheese squares which are just American cheese-cheese curds, which i don't even like usually but these ones were really good and I'd get them again, and then the onion rings were also amazing! The home made root beer and orange sodas were out of this world awesome. We are super satisfied customers and would take the 30+minute drive from our house in the next town over every weekend just to try more of their food because they have a large food selection for being a small place that still brings your food to the car. Absolutely great place to eat, I recommend everyone try it at least once! Just make sure you have cash or your ATM card handy because they don't do credit. Not a deal breaker for me the food...
Read moreDownside: It took a while to receive our food. It doesn't seem to matter if there is a rush or not. They always under-fry the breaded mushrooms. I asked for them to be well done but still had to put them in the oven for a bit after getting home which changes the texture so I won't be ordering them again. My daughter said her burger looked sad and she didn't like it. I had the jumbo dog which was good but very sloppily put together and onions were poorly chopped and globs of mustard in one area so I had to spread it out.
Upside: Their onion rings and the amount of toppings are satisfactory. They make a good root beer but don't recommend getting the gallon unless you're sure it'll be consumed within a few hours. The chocolate malt was really good but small. All the same, probably don't need to have that much ice cream in one sitting anyway.
I would opt for Sonic before The Spot but Spot is closest to us.
If you're a local, you likely love the spot because you grew up with it. If you're not from the area, it's an experience with the car-hop but stick to the basics unless you want to be disappointed. I keep thinking I'll enjoy them more each time but end up disappointed more...
Read moreI've read everyone's reviews about this place and I'm wondering if anyone has ever had a good burger because this place not good. I live within walking distance of this place and when I moved here a little over a year ago my fiance and I decided to try the local places. We walked, I realize this place is a drive in, but there are only a few tables to sit at outside and that day they were taken up entirely buy a baseball team, so we stood at the counter. Not a huge deal. Our waitress, she was blonde, was very friendly, we had no complaints about her. Her co-worker, a brunette, was horrible. She was so rude to the cooks. We heard her swearing at them and yelling at them, loud as life in front of any customers around. Our food took a long time and when we got out food nothing was seasoned. Not even salt. I can make better burgers at home and for much less than what I paid for our two burgers, sides and drinks. Nothing tasted great like other Kenosha residents have commented and what kind of employee yells and swears at other staff members in front of customers? For almost $20 we will go somewhere else for...
