My fiance and I are both in sober living and we have been visiting V.P.P. on the weekends all summer. We primitive camp but are able to make it quite comfortable! The gentleman and his wife whom caretake the park for the city of Kenova, are very friendly and helpful! The park is well patrolled by friendly law enforcement. The boat dock and beaches need a little tlc but otherwise they are adequate. Barges travel by often and sometimes this can be a little noisey but you soon get used to it. Plenty of good fishing spots! We love visiting and find the park to be very relaxing, safe and fun! It suits our needs well and anything you find you are lacking is only a short walk into town. We are very glad we found the park and recommend it to anyone! Heading there now as a matter of...

Where do I begin...

So the idea that you can stand in one state and look at 2 others is cool. You can do that there.

On the other hand. It is a very small park and there were approximately 10 campers and scattered tents. Some of which appeared to be permanent residents, or at least long term. You could tell the tents had been mowed around for a long time, by the height of the vegetation.

The shore line is riddled with trash, which I'm sure is hard to control being it is on the river, but it wouldn't have taken much to clean the small "beachy" area they have.

I love traveling and West Virginia in particular but this park...

It's always pleasant to stop here and visit with Mother Nature. I always stop here on my way back from Hershel "Woody" Williams VA Medical Center. It helps me relax and takes some of the tension away. My Wife and I used to stop here when She was alive. We would have picnics here with our Children. They would Love to play on the swings or even play in the water. I miss them Days. Now I can take my Grandchildren there and have almost the same fun I had with my Children. Thank You for reading this. GOD Bless to Y'all from the Witkus Family...

The campground is back in, $25 a night. Easy hook up with a nice view of Kentucky and Ohio. It was enjoyable watching the tugs push the barges around all night. My daughter enjoyed trying to make them blow their horns. They did! The camp hosts were great, very helpful and kind. We only gave it a 3 stars because of the lack of bathrooms/showers and a surprisingly large number of cars that pull in and out all day. It was definitely strange to see that many cars come into a remote out of the way area.

Great stop to see the Ohio River, Ohio and Kentucky as you stand in West Virginia. Lots of space and equipment for play. Covered area with picnic tables as well. Restrooms would be a great addition. Swing for four babies and about ten olders, at a time, on three different swingsets.
