Note: I wrote a separate review of the O.O. Denny loop trail - this is an extended review of the Denny Creek Upper Trailhead, as I feel this is definitely a more challenging trail, but even more beautiful! I went the day they had a nature class for kids. They were having so much fun looking for slugs by the creek!
Branching off from the loop trail as it turns right to go over the salmon creek on the loop trail, this came as a delightful surprise! The trail winds through the forest, past the creek and over 3 bridges, providing the most wonderful hiking experience! Then you hit the stairs... Here's my word of caution: if you are over 70 (I'm 78), or hiker "challenged" in any way - this portion may not be for you. There are 154 stairs straight up (even more physical steps) and right after that is a steep hill to the top. There's a bench 1/3 of the way up, otherwise, it's a steep climb. The top of the trail comers ends at 76 Ave NE & NE 125 St, near The Parke at Finn Hill sign. Then you have to come back down to get to the parking lot! Personally, I love the challenge, but for those who prefer not to take the stairs, stop at the base of the stairs, go back to meet up with the loop trail and continue around the loop. My personal feeling - the trail is worth it. It's so beautiful and I felt so in tune with nature in there and I loved the 3 bridges! And yes, I even liked the challenge of the stairs! (they got a little easier the next time I did it). Give this path a try - even if you stop at the stairs. ...

Was it 1.255 ft high and 26 ft around? And many 200 ft plus trees still exist here. The trail system is constantly being improved and the lakefront is absolutely beautiful and offers a wide selection of everything for all ages. It fills up quickly on sunny days and I recommend grabbing one of the picnic tables or barbecue areas in advance. Love everything...

There's an interesting section about halfway to O.O. Denny Park where it's like you're on a jungle hike. The only part that isn't great is some stone steps they tried to improve and ended up...
