Wythogan Park — Attraction in Knox

They've added so much since I was young. 🤗😁 Water pad.. nice walking path... pickle ball, basketball court, more ball fields, more restrooms, concessions that are open and more. ♡

I do have 7 big suggestions. 🤔🤯

More benches. My mom, those with physical limitations but still want to get exercise, fresh air, safe community... needs benches closer together. Once she's tired and her back is 'done'; it's NOW. Getting to another bench is DIFFICULT. She's not the only one.

Definitely need one more ball field. I hate taking out trees but that area really just needs to be a field. Add more trees where you can. Maybe flowering ones ( not near seating/walking - bees!)

Some more safety around the water and at least the younger kids side, fenced. Rare as it might be water and stranger danger makes it very stressful for moms... and dads and grandmothers!

Prettier lights on path etc. Not just functional - attractive!

One tennis court would be preferred though. (Hard to play with kids without one.😟)

Covered bleachers (not sides though for airflow.) Parents and elderly grandparents get rained out. No fun for anyone!

Ice skating rink. L♡VE - needs to be bigger.

Raise the money not taxes! ;) Ask for donations etc etc. Make plans to expand! It's...

Love this facility. It's a great park... nicely wooded... plenty of room. Nice shade, which comes in handy for softball. The fields are pretty good. They aren't amazing but they don't totally suck either. BUT.... most have WORKING SCOREBOARDS!! Concession food is really good... breadsticks are awesome. mozzarella cheese sticks are really tasty. My daughter really liked her strawberry shake. They have a splash pad for those hot days... multiple out buildings with restrooms so you don't have to walk a mile to pee. They even have a band stage and dance floor! This place has everything! Every time we have come here for a softball tournament I've seen multiple muscle cars or hot rods cruise through the facility which is nice. The coolest part for me is the rock architecture around the park and entrance. Really cool stuff. You can look through the rock arch and see the Starke Circuit County building which is included...

This park has come a really long way. The basketball courts have needed redone for the last 4-5 years but the mayor plays tennis (the only person in the whole county that plays and plays at the park) so those got redone over the basketball courts which actually need it especially since there are 12 tennis courts available for use at the high school 24/7. The skatepark was once really nice too, the nicest around in a 60 mile radius, but the city never kept up with the maintenance and it got ruined and now is embarrassing compared to what it once was.
