There are TWO playgrounds in âmorningside parkâ - the one in the picture I uploaded is the original playground, NOT the new blue one. The new blue one is Bluecross Healthy Place @ Morningside Park at 1898 Hazen Street. The playground shown in my picture is 1600 Dandridge Avenue. I didnât feel super safe at either but especially not at the original Morningside park. I went at 9 am and there were 3 cars that pulled up with their cars running with no one getting out. I was alone with my kid and walked all the way up to the street just to wave down a parks and rec truck to walk with me to my car. He said âtheyâre probably just drug dealing, they wonât bother youâ super comforting!...
Read moreWent for a round of disc golf today and the park was a dump, we literally seen a pill bottle as soon as we started off the first pad, liquor bottles, pathways trashed with blankets from where people lay at night. We even had to dodge 2 pitbulls running loose with leash still attached as we had to figure out the course because all markings and maps are ruined. Needless to say we will not be back nor would I suggest anyone at all especially children to go there, as it is truly a health hazard. Truly a shame as it could be great if taken care of probably. Such a close walk for so many, park management services...
Read moreThe best Disc Golf park in Knoxville! It's confusing and muddy a lot. Most of the maps have been torn down by vagrants. There's broken glass everywhere, used condoms, lots of abandoned hobo encampments with Vienna sausage containers. But it's so Knoxville.
It's been there since the 80s and blue cross blue shield is suppose to be renovating it with a 3 million dollar grant but it's been 3 years so we'll see what comes of it.
I highly recommend this park, it's fun ,has huge hills and you can make trash angels ( kind of like snow angels but more used heroin needles).
Go check out Dark Ritual Disc Golf...
