A place you must visit! The Beck Cultural Exchange Center is an amazing museum with friendly and informative staff who are eager to share the dramatic story of Knoxville's Urban Renewal story. The historic house is interesting and beautiful too. We enjoyed the film, the exhibits, and most of all, the excellent staff. We even got to meet the archivist and see the archives. I highly recommend seeing this place and learning the stories they have to tell. Also, the Alex Haley statue is just down the street and convenient to the Beck!

Go to this museum! The Beck Cultural Exchange Center is a treasure. Learn about Black history in Knoxville. The artifacts are displayed beautifully. The tour is comprehensive and highlights the museum's mission to be the place that people go to learn, discover and experience the rich legacy of African Americans inside a vibrant Cultural Corridor in Knoxville. I will return.

First off i love the center. But that ceo they have there now thats another story. She came at us on her first time as an arogant rude and really angry. We were there for my brothers wedding and when they first reserved the center the ladies showed them the room each would use well every thing started off great until this ceo came in then it all goes down hill fast first she complains about us being in the room we was in then the table cant nothing touch the table then she rushed the bride to get finish with her make up and then sent her into a bathroom stall to put on her dress this was by far the worst conduct of bussiness i have ever experienced. I would not reccomend any one to do any events there thats just my experience and how i felt fron the way she treated us now the other employees there were awsome very helpful but her no i would never send any one there for any type of event so if i could give them no stars i would but i had to...

Everything was good up until the wedding day everything went down hill because I guess the CEO showed up. Everything that was agreed upon she didn’t like, she walked around like a warden and we were inmates in jail. she was very disrespectful we were told we could use a room to get dressed she didn’t like that, she told the bride she had to get out the room she was very unprofessional, she stayed around the entire wedding hovering over the party even asking for food and cake. We was supposed to get a 50 Dollar deposit back as long as everything was cleaned up and it was but because she saw someone drinking a beer in some alley that had nothing to do with the wedding we can’t get it back. let’s just say a day that was supposed to be so special was ruined because of power trip.worst experience ever she even ran some guest off because they didn’t fill...

On Friday, March 14, 2025, the AKA sorors who joined Zeta Delta Chapter in the Fall of 1975 celebrated their 50th Golden Celebration at the Beck Cultural Center. The event was absolutely fantastic. All the decor and arrangements were beautifully done by Kwanbe Bullard and Ms. Rene’. It was a delightful pleasure to have worked with both of them. The center is awesome with so much black culture to enjoy. I cannot emphasize enough how professional and accommodating Ms. Rene’ and Mr. Kwanbe were during the entire event. The most important part is, our Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Golden Celebration was in the city of Knoxville, TN where we became member of the greatest sorority 50 years ago. The “Jive Nine” made some priceless memories. Mr. Kwanbe and Ms. Rene’, thank you so much for your outstanding support and thoughtfulness. Regards, Sherrye...
