I’m a relatively new resident to the area, so I’m glad I was able to find a nice local music shop.
I took one of my acoustic guitars in for maintenance and restringing, and the luthier, Dr. Tom, was amazing. He talked me through his entire process, explained what he was going to do and why it was necessary, and finished the work as quickly as anyone could hope. (I dropped it off a few days before Easter and got to pick it up the day after Easter.) When I picked up my guitar, he included a diagnostic sheet that detailed all the work he did; which I really appreciate so I can keep records of instrument maintenance.
My guitar has never looked or played better! Tom made sure to get rid of neck warp and fret buzz for me. I will absolutely be taking all my instruments to SSE for maintenance. Thanks, Dr. Tom and SSE Music for taking great care of me...
Read moreI dropped of a bass guitar to have it set up on a Saturday. I told the gentleman at the counter what I wanted, and I filled out the tag with my information and what I needed done. I was told SSE would call me. By Friday of the next week I had not heard from SSE. I called, and my guitar was untouched. I asked why not, and I was told by the guitar tech that he did not know what service it needed. So it sat there for almost a week for no reason. When I called the person with whom I spoke could not find my guitar at first. Then I was told they would get ot it, and SSE would call me. So, no initiative, no clue, no proactive customer service, no anything.
Please go to Dave's Guitar Shop. I would have gone there first if SSE was not co close to my home.

Read moreRecently bought a Roland GP6 from them. Although the order did take almost a month to come in, Marty was very apologetic. They just recently reworked their agreement with Roland to sell their pianos again. Although I had to call a few times to get updates, I did eventually get them regarding the shipment. Make sure you get a hold of Marty, though, as he can give you a better idea of when it will be received.
The wait was all made up for with their delivery service though. Marty did the delivery and I could tell that he took great care in handling my eGrand Piano! I very much appreciated their service and was also thanked and once again apologized to for the delay.
In the end I was very glad I went locally with SSE and Marty, versus ordering online. The white glove service in delivery alone...
