We recently celebrated our daughter’s first birthday at this park, and it turned out to be the perfect spot! The atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming, with a beautiful lake as one of its main highlights. The lake is home to a variety of aquatic birds—ducks, geese, and some smaller black ones that I couldn’t quite name, but they were fun to watch swimming around. If you enjoy nature, just walking by the water and watching the birds adds a nice, relaxing touch to the experience.
The park has plenty of picnic benches and grills, making it a great place for gatherings. However, while there are quite a few trees, they don’t provide as much shade as you might expect, even when they’re full of leaves. If you’re planning to spend a long time here, it’s a good idea to bring your own canopy or some form of shade to stay comfortable, especially on hot days. There are larger gazebo areas available, and they can be reserved in advance. However, on Sundays and holidays, it’s first-come, first-served, which means if you get there early, you might still be able to snag one! This is great for those last-minute plans or if you’re not looking to pay for a reservation.
For those who enjoy outdoor activities, this park offers a little bit of everything. There’s a well-maintained disc golf course with posted signs to guide players, making it a fun option for both beginners and experienced players. There are also tennis courts and a dedicated handball area, giving visitors more ways to stay active. If you have kids, there are multiple playgrounds throughout the park, so no matter where you set up, you won’t be too far from a play area to keep them entertained.
Sports lovers will also appreciate the baseball fields, which have extra seating for spectators. And if fishing is more your thing, the lake offers plenty of opportunities to cast a line. There are signs posted around the lake listing the different species of fish you can catch, though we didn’t try fishing this time. But for anyone looking to spend a relaxing day by the water with a fishing pole in hand, this seems like a solid spot to do so.
Another important aspect of any park visit is the facilities, and this park does a good job of providing convenience. There are restrooms scattered throughout the area, which is always a plus when spending a long day outdoors. They were in decent condition, which is something I always appreciate at a public park.
One thing to note is that you may see a handful of homeless individuals in the area, but in our experience, they were all friendly and respectful. If they felt like they were making someone uncomfortable, they would often leave the area out of courtesy. It’s something to be aware of, but it didn’t negatively impact our visit at all.
Dog owners will be happy to know that dogs are allowed in the park as long as they’re on a leash, so it’s a great spot if you want to bring your furry friend along for a walk. Between the lake, the open fields, and the variety of paths, there’s plenty of space to take them for a stroll while enjoying the scenery.
Overall, this park has a little bit of everything—beautiful views, recreational activities, picnic areas, and a family-friendly environment. Whether you’re hosting an event, getting in some exercise, or just looking for a relaxing place to spend the day, it’s a solid choice. We had a wonderful time celebrating here and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a great...
Read moreThis park is perfect for toddlers. The playground was build for ages 2-5. It's clean. Parking is close by. There's plenty of ducks, geese, squirrels and blue Jay's hanging around. There's a little lake near by where you can fish. Lots of families are walking around the water, taking a stroll. There is also Frisbee golf here so you'll see people playing games all throughout the park. There's cement picnick tables and a couple benches around the playground for parents. The restrooms are clean and provide soap. It's handicap accessible but the kid's kept tripping over the elevated part of the ramp. Most kids learned their lesson after the first fall but it's still not safe. I didn't give 5 stars because there were a few little things that could have been done better, for example, I wish the play area was enclosed with a fence since there's a large body of water so close. There's also groups of people playing Frisbee golf just a few feet away from the playground. Obviously you need to watch your kids at all times. But a gate would be a nice precaution. After all that being said, it's still one of our new go to parks...
Read moreIt's a nice park, has a pond with ducks and geese, plus it has lighted tennis courts, a public pool (when it opens, if ever), basketball, handball courts all separate from each other, there is frisbee golf and running and/or walking courses with different work out stations for example there could be a pull-up bar at one of these stops or stations and the next one might have a sit-up station and the next one might be dips, etc., not sure how many there are and the park is hilly so this is definitely a park geared towards physical activity for the size of the park it has a lot to offer. There is also a community gymnasium here. There are 3 parking lots for the park. It is smaller in size compared to most regional parks, but it doesn't cost to get in either. The only down side if that is a down side is this park isn't a company picnic, wedding or birthday party type, there are no...
