This is a very nice little museum well worth the time to visit. They rotate the featured display regularly, and it is always well done and interesting.
In addition to the history of the area, the museum has a weekly rotation of midday activities including videos, discussions, crafts and displays. Their website publishes a schedule every month. A good place to go in the summer to beat the heat.
The building itself is part of the history of the area, well worth a visit in its own right. They have a courtyard that offers an occasional concert or lecture.

We also got to see the added photos from 1962 salton sea which was very interesting see, especially the comparison of current versus historical photo which was quite shocking to see.
