I love Funspot, it feels like a special place that has everything an arcade could have. I especially like the old games and the American Classic Arcade Museum (ACAM). I last went on a Tuesday where it was very quiet but if you come on the weekends in the summer it gets very busy, so I would try and go in any of the off-peak times if you can.
The value you get is much better than the mainstream arcades like Dave and Busters (not to mention better games here too). It's 50 tokens for 10 dollars, which is 20 cents per token. You get a better value if you spend 20 dollars and get 110 tokens, which equals to about 18 cents per token.
10 dollars worth of tokens lasted me about two hours. Granted different games use different amounts of tokens. The games in ACAM take one token per play, as does skee-ball, classic pinball games take two tokens, new pinball games take three, and new non-pinball games take mostly between two and three tokens. I played mostly ACAM games so my tokens probably lasted longer than most, which I recommend as it's the best value and you get to play the most unique games in the arcade.
There were a few machines that didn't work when I put my token in and I had to get a worker to come fix it. The workers are very helpful but it is a shame that often times games will appear to be working but then not do anything when you put your token in, especially if the coin reject doesn't work. I know these are old games but it would be nice if there was a way to fix this problem.
There are enough games here to have you keep coming back for days and still not play anywhere near all of them. You might be surprised that they do not have some of the more mainstream arcade games, such as the basketball hoops game, which I am curious as to why they do not have. I've also heard that they have in recent years gotten rid of some of their old games in favor of freeing up space for their party room, which is understandable but unfortunate if they got rid of some of their old games, which I wish they had more of.
Their pizza and fries are very good too. I wish they had some lighter options like a salad but the food that they do have is very good.
I'm going to have to come back again as I want to play their indoor mini golf. I also knew they used to have Money Trunks but I saw that they have since gotten rid of it unfortunately.
Funspot is an amazing place that I highly recommend going to, it's great for people who are into games but also I think people who aren't typically into arcade games will have a blast too. Check out the photos I attached for some of their more unique things going on. I think...

Read moreI bring my family to Funspot every summer and it is a fabulous and affordable family entertainment center. The people who criticize Funspot for having machines that are out of order clearly don't understand how challenging it is to maintain several hundred 30-40 year old retro games that are running 7 days a week for 10-12 hours a day. Imagine the challenge of maintaining a fleet of 600 antique cars that were running 80 hours a week and you will begin to understand what Funspot's technical team is dealing with on a daily basis. In many cases they don't make parts for these games anymore and arcade operators are forced to buy used electronics on Ebay hoping that some of the components still work and they can hack them apart and solder it all into a solution that works for a few months until something else on the machine fails and the process repeats. I for one am very thankful that Funspot continues to offer one of the largest retro game selections in the world because as an arcade operator I know from experience that retro games are 10% of the income and 90% of the maintenance headaches. I also appreciate that Funspot continues to offer these games at their original 1980s price of $0.25 per play, even though 4 decades of inflation makes $0.25 in 1980 worth roughly $0.75 today. I recommend that everyone who loves retro games goes to Funspot and enjoys them now because these games will eventually fail and arcades will be forced to start pulling them off the floor in favor of modern machines that are more reliable and earn better. Thank you David and the Funspot team for having such a great, affordable, fun place for us all to take our families. And thank you for continuing to offer such a large selection of retro games so we can also relive a little piece of our childhoods even though those games cost you far more to maintain...
