My favorite thing about this place is the large open space the dogs have to run. The folks there are super nice. As well as their dogs. No worries about aggressive dogs. There is a separate exit from the entrance. Plenty of dog bowls and a spigot with a watering can to fill up the bowls. Even a hose so you can spray off Fido's muddy paws if you're so inclined!

Great dog park. There are not separate sections for small vs large dogs. Plenty of cleaning supplies. There's a hose to refill the water bowls and a small swim pool for the dogs to sit in. Most of the individuals we encountered were nice and cleaned up after their pets. However we witnessed a few not clean up, so beware where you walk.

It's already run down a bit. It's clear Lafayette doesn't maintain it very well. The dog do cans were overflowing, and the grass was closed off forcing you to walk through mud to get in. There is a large low spot that becomes a mud whole, not great for keeping your dogs clean.

Go for walks here often. Lovely park with fabulous maintinence workers! Did you know that the bathrooms here are super clean or that the staff folds the toilet paper like they do in hotels? I gotta say, wow, what a great job y'all do for our community. Thanks so much for such amazing upkeep. That being said, there is a problem with dog walkers leaving huge poops behind. Some days it is clean and you don't smell anything, but other days well xD let's just say it don't smell like flowers.

Can we please all do our part to keep the park clean and uphold city ordinance? Wouldn't it be great to change how Louisiana is percieved? As a life-long resident, I unfortunately expect things like leaving out dog poop, people blasting music, frequent littering, etc.from this city due to seeing it on the daily. Let's all do our parts to keep the city clean, considerate, and friendly! Let's hold ourselves accountable and do our park workers proud - they're certainly making this city look...

I will share what I found/learned about this new dog park during my ONE trip there (its a really long drive for us). The layout is nice, not a fenced in square or rectangle like so many d-parks I have visited. Surrounding the fenced in enclosure were paved sidewalks where I saw some people walking their dogs. There was playground equipment close by, a restroom building, no port-o-let. Back to the fenced portion... There were a few areas (bench type w/table) for two legged comfort. I believe there were several of those obstacle course constructions for the athletic (show off) dogs. The entry and exit is double gated and quite secure. Ample water, hoses, some plastic swimming tubs, dishes etc. HOWEVER I arrived after a rain and you could not get anywhere without wading through water and mud. So some definite drainage issues. That's all I...

Nice park in a quiet location where you can let your dog off leash and get to run around and the like. Unfortunately, easily ruined by others as no real rule enforcement on property. Today we went and stayed all of 5 minutes due to a gentleman's dog repeatedly trying to mount ours. His owner sat a few 100 feet away, oblivious to anything but his book. Still giving a four star, its really not their fault. With that being said, I'd be willing to pay a small fee if it meant them getting...
