Please don't make the same mistake my friend made. If you realize that something that was sent over for an estate sale is something that a family member dearly wants because of its importance to not only his Uncle that it belongs to but to him as his nephew. The family member was unable to take off from work to assist in getting items together to send over for the sale. When he and his family realized they had sent the items over that should stay in the family, they reached out to Hunt & Gather, before the sale and even offered to BUY the item in question for the full listed price the item that was the property of the family was listed for. This would have given Hunt & Gather the full commission they would have been due upon sale doubled, and the family was told they could not have their own property back, even though they offered to pay for it. Unbelievable!! The owner told them they could come stand in line the day of the sale and try and buy it that way, STAND IN LINE TO BUY THEIR OWN PROPERTY!!! Are you kidding me!!!. Completely unprofessional and Unbelievable conduct on the part of Hunt & Gather. Do yourself a favor and pass this company over if you ever need help with an estate sale, because heaven forbid, if you make a mistake they will ignore you as if the property never even belonged to you. Sad way to conduct...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA few months ago, we discovered estate sales in our area. We had been to auctions several times before and garage sales once or twice, but estate sales were a new thing for us. Because we only knew of one group running these sales locally, we followed them. Those in charge seemed less than pleasant and somewhat poorly informed about what they were selling, but it was fun to look for goodies (of which we did find several). Then, last weekend, we happened upon an ad for a Hunt and Gather sale. The atmosphere was SO different from the sales we attended with the first group. People were actually smiling and friendly! It was such a pleasure to feel truly welcome (and not like something to be put up with ~ LOL). We ended up purchasing a lovely Boston Terrier doorstop and were given enough information by James to dig into a fun afternoon of research when we got home! Thanks so much for the great experience! We hope to...

I'll admit that I haven't been to an estate sale for years and that I am largely ignorant of how they work. Hunt and Gather laid that out for me and I appreciate it. +1 ā
Original Review: For when you like to pay higher than average prices for the same things you could get on marketplace for a lower price
Went to an estate sale Friday looking for VHS tapes and I found a stack that was not marked with a price. I took them up to the front table and I said "how much for these? They don't have a label" and the lady said "Uh, a dollar a piece." After a moment I said "would you take less than a dollar for each?" Then she said "We don't negotiate on the first day of the sale" like, lady, you just made the price up just...
