Hands-down the WORST service I have ever received in the city of Lafayette. On Saturday, I noticed one of the stones in my engagement ring fell out. I had heard lots of positive things about Nacol from people and called them to see if I could bring it in and if while they were fixing it, they could also appraise it. I specifically asked Kim on the phone if the appraisal included information such as the clarity and color of the diamonds since my insurance company needs that information. Kim assured me that it would. I got a call today saying that my ring and the appraisal paperwork was ready. I waited for several minutes before being helped despite the lady at the counter calling THREE times to the back for one of the THREE ladies in the back to come assist me. When I finally got help, I immediately noticed that they listed the appraisal amount a very significant amount lower than what the owner said he would appraise it. I asked them to fix it. They did. They then returned the paperwork. Both my fiancé's and my name were spelled incorrectly. (Our fault - His handwriting on the ticket wasn't clear.) Okay - no problem. I get in the car with the third set of paperwork and noticed immediately that they had stated my carat weight was .25 lower than it is AND that they did not list the clarity and the color of the diamonds (WHICH I SPECIFICALLY ASKED ON THE PHONE IF IT WAS INCLUDED IN THE STANDARD APPRAISAL). Literally all that was listed on the appraisal was the incorrect carat weight, the cut of the diamonds, and how many diamonds there were. I went back in the store for the third time. I asked politely if they discovered my ring weighed .25 less than what I was told when I first bought it at another location. Kim said no, she had just estimated its weight. I explained to her that her husband had asked me how many carats were in my diamonds. I told him and showed him paperwork which proves the weight. She told me, "Sweetheart, if you ever need an appraisal done, find me. Don't ask my husband (the owner)." I told her that I watched him write it on the ticket. She told me that she didn't see it. She then went to go look at the ticket and said aloud, "Oops. He did write it. He just wrote it on the back." In the meantime, another jeweler took my ring in the back to estimate the diamonds' clarity and color. This took all of five minutes for him to do. For the life of me, I cannot understand for $150 why the clarity and color of the weren't included from the very beginning on the appraisal sheet considering I specifically requested it AND it only took five minutes to gather that information. To top all this off, while Kim was walking to show me the final set of paperwork, a customer asked her a question about some pearls. She took several minutes talking with him instead of referring him to a couple saleswomen who were standing nearby and didn't have any customers. My intention was to buy our wedding bands here. Unfortunately after today, I will never be returning to Nacol's and will definitely be sharing my experience if anyone asks me for jeweler...
Read moreI bought my wife's wedding set here. It was awesome to be able to sit down with the owner and hand pick her center stone. I gave the owner my price range and he pulled the diamonds that match my range and her preference. The staff was always so sweet. We loved going in to get her ring cleaned every few months.
However, after 4 years, my wife had lost over 7 side stones. Each time, it would cost us $50 to replace each stone. The first time, they took their time to make sure they matched the accent stone to the rest to where we couldn't tell which was replaced. But that was the only time. After that, they started replacing darker colored stones and smaller ones as well. We didn't feel like we should be responsible for having to replace that many stones in a 4 year period. We brought the ring in and expressed our concerns and asked that they look over each setting to make sure they were all tight. We were told that stones fall out and that is "job security" for them. That really did not sit well with us.
After a week, we got my wife's ring and immediately brought it to another jeweler in town to have them look over it. They found FIVE more stones that were about to fall out. This is after their inspection. Our new jeweler ensured us that we should not be losing stones like we have and said that we should not be paying for replacement stones. They were able to tighten all prongs and replace the stones that did not match the rest.
Through the last 6 months, my wife has finally able to wear her ring with confidence and hasn't...
Read moreI visited this store for a simple pair of children's earrings. I was quoted a price of $25. I can immediately tell that there is a problem at checkout. The cashier calls the manager over and they begin discussing the price of the earrings in front of me. "We don't discount Pandora earrings," she says to the manager. The manager then asks her "Why are we discounting these?" Neither of these women are the sales person that sold me the earrings. They proceed to call the salesperson over and explain to her (still in front of me) that they don't discount Pandora earrings. She says that she didn't know. The manager advises me that they are $40, not $25. I tell her that I didn't ask for a discount. The salesperson heads to grab a Pandora box for my purchase. The manager tells her that I don't need the box. After all of the rigmarole for a $15 difference for PANDORA jewelry right in front of me, she deemed it unnecessary to give me the Pandora box. The entire transaction was very unprofessional and should have been discussed once I was gone. I will not visit this...
