Taco Sisters — Restaurant in Lafayette

Not at all what I was expecting from their reputation. FLIES were everywhere!!! I teach my kids to try everything and being new to Lafayette we’ve been trying a lot of places as my kids are very adventurous eaters. My son said, “we’re not going back there mama”. My shrimp taco was totally over seasoned and over sauced. The freshness I was expecting and combination of saucy and crunchy was not there. The lettuce was mush and my taco was dripping of sogginess. The fresh cut tomatoes were the only freshness. Had I not been so hungry, I would not have eaten it. The kids meals were totally off. I could have ordered incorrectly, but my two year old with a full set of teeth had a hard time eating the kids pork taco cause there were large caramelized, burnt pieces to try and get through. Try switching with her brother, 4yrs, and his beef taco is oozing with grease worse than Taco Bell. Lastly, my ginger lemonade was so much ginger that it was unpleasantly spicy and I love ginger! I credit them for checking on me, trying to remedy my criticisms, and replacing my drink. I still will not eat...

I ordered a shrimp taco, chips and salsa (why chips and salsa aren’t complimentary?) and two bottles of water. I was by myself but I was thirsty. I was shocked when I was told my total is $17.25. Fine, I am here, I paid. I received two bottles of water that were 16.9 ounces each, a single small to average sized taco, a tiny bag of chips and 8 ounces of salsa. I think the water is what drove the price up but I don’t know since my receipt doesn’t have any prices or dollar amounts. The taco was ok, could have used more shrimp but tasted fine. Very average tasting and not memorable at all. The chips were good. The salsa was terrible. The salsa tasted like chipotle flavored ketchup.

I heard plenty of raves about how awesome the food is here, but I just don’t see it. The food is fresh, so that’s the only thing going for it.

Welp..... This is now the second time this has happened. Sat at the back, no one took the order came out, nothing, drove to the front, other car got their food pulled off, we pull up and the short Asian girl at the window sat filling up some water jugs and messing with the register. This literally just occurred just after 330 today. Not once did anyone turn to acknowledge our car. No hold on, I'll be right with you, nothing. We just sat here for a total of 12 minuites. This happened 3 months ago too. So here we are. I changed my 5 star to a 1 because the food is decent, but I'll never come back again because it's not good enough to get ignored not once, but now twice at the drive thru.. Not cool guys.
