This is 1 of the sandy beaches of Lake Elsinore, CA. Which is situated at the base of the Cleveland National Forest. It's a wonderful walk on a weekend, watch the sunburned fisherman sitting impatiently in motor boats, & on the beach.
Multi-story Sand castles are built in deep puddles.. people & mountainous rock formations are imitated, found on Lake Elsinore beaches here.
There's a ramp for boats, lots of street parking though it does fill up fast.
Plenty of Coots/Mud Hens splash around, swimming hurriedly alongside multiple types of ducks. Many times you'll find eager seagulls diving down quickly either onto the water or sand, a bit of fish or human-food having caught their attention.
Come on over, have a look see & then make the drive uphill into the Cleveland National Forest - th er res 1 Candy Shop & a Jerky Store.. driving to see enormous oaks, in nearly green valleys..a 45 min. drive thru will brjng you to the 5 Fwy. Then. If you drive No. a few miles, you'll be in San Juan Capistrano - go investigate the Mission which calls the Swallows home...
Read moreDELIGHTFUL BEACH! The sand and fresh air puts you in an excellent mood! The excellent views of the surrounding mountains and remarkable lake are great for any outdoor enthusiasts. I visited recently for the Water Lantern Festival and the water looked clearer this time around! It’s recommended not to swim in this lake, however it’s open for boating and fishing excursions. My only complaint about Elm Grove Beach is that there isn’t enough lighting. It’s pitch black once night comes around which makes it dangerous to walk and drive near the lake. I’m speaking for the residences nearby too. I think we need a couple of street lamps around here! There’s grassy areas located on the beach and some limited parking close by. I didn’t spot any open restrooms this visit, mainly portable toilets. Overall, there’s not a bad view on this beach and it’s...
Read moreWill always love Lake Elsinore. Yes it has algae blooms and fish kills (and homeless people), but you can get that almost everywhere. You just got to know when n where to go. It's beautiful and there's some really cool hiking in the area. I lived there for over 25 years, have seen the lake so low you could walk from one end to the other. Have also seen it flood covering up most of the 4 main roads that circle it. The Grand Ave/Lakeland Village side is best for swimming. Tons of wildlife in the area and yes, a few homeless people but except for the trash they leave around, they're harmless. The city needs to do whatever they have to in order to keep the trash off the beaches and visitors need to pick up after themselves. Enjoy but Leave No Trace !!...
