I got a chile colorado wet burrito here and it was decent, my only gripe though is it really didn't taste a whole lot different than burritos at Burger Basket, but the reason I'm not giving this place the same 5 stars I gave Burger Basket for their burritos is this is an actual restaurant so I'd expect the burritos here to be much better, but the prices aren't much higher either so it's hard to justify knocking em lower than at least 4 stars, but realistically, if I wanted to go out of my way, I could just buy a can of enchilada sauce at the store and pour it on a Burger Basket burrito, I just wouldn't get the small extras like chips instead of fries or guac and sour cream, those conveniences are nice though.
edit: tried their enchilada's. Same issues I've found with every Mexican restaurant, for whatever reason, these places just cannot make good Enchilada sauce, you can't taste any seasoning. I'm not even joking, I make my own enchiladas with canned sauce, and even it is more seasoned than 99% of Mex restaurants.
Update 2: bumping them up to 5 stars with my latest visit. I believe every time I've come here I've gotten chunky beef style burritos, but this time I ended up getting one with their shredded beef and I have to commend them this time around because the beef was very juicy and well seasoned which I even found better than my previous mentioned love for Burger Basket's burritos. I also tried their mole enchilada's, they were pretty decent, but I maintain my previous comments about enchilada's at seemingly every Mexican restaurant, good, but again didn't take me...
Read moreFind some place else, we have driven from Corona for many years to patronize this place, 1/28/2022 Updated to single star, after driving from Corona to eat here for years we were greeted by the hostess for 2 people, she said it would be about 10min, very cold out and the only people in the door way, she looks at me and says you can go wait outside (I replied well thank you) , so we stood outside. within 3min a couple parked and walked in stood and were seated, then again within less than 5min same thing happened a couple pulled up parked, walked in and were seated in another direction. My wife figured this wasn't right and went in & asked politely, that we had been here waiting and watched 2 different couples arrive and get seated , they said (in a unpleasant tone) someone moved openings on the list and thats how it was , we asked to speak to a manager and she said No we could not, so we bit our tongue and left, ate elsewhere and called Guadalajara's on the phone and voiced the complaint, they still seemed uncaring but apologized lamely (we weren't looking for anything, just ownership of your customer service), I don't know if they're covering for a family member or what, however I would suggest to find someplace else to...
Read moreI have been going to Guadalajara for years and I mean 23 years to be exact. Fantastic food, reasonably priced and always great service. I'm a big eater, if you dare get a 3 item combination plate, the number 16 to be specific, an enchilada, tamale and chili relleno. The rice and beans it comes with are amazing. It's a lot of food, attempt at your own risk. But anything you order will be great. A few things I recommend are the albondigas, the carnitas burrito, chili verda burrito, chipotle shrimp burrito, TJ street tacos, carnitas plate served with rice and beans with your choice of soup or salad or one of my favorite the bacon wrapped shrimp (camarones costa azul). Its definitely not a fancy place. It feels like you've been transported to Mexico as soon as you walk in, I love that. It's a mom and pop kinda, hole in the wall restaurant, which in my travels I have found to be the best places to eat. I live in Riverside and will take the drive to Lake Elsinore to eat at Guadalajaras no questions asked. So if you are in the area or even if your not take a half day and try this place out, you will not be...
