Had an issue with 2 hosts/ volunteers who get a free site in exchange for working. We were moving sites and normally I'm allowed to move early rather than waiting till 1oclockbecause I have to work. A husband and wife were working today and I wanted to move to a site that had been empty for 4 days but they wouldn't let me. I asked why, they said there was an issue with the site, and when I asked what the issue was, I was accused of being a bully. Just for asking questions. I had to go to work, and if there was an issue with the site, whereas it might not be working, then I would like to know so I can see if another site is available. I was accused of being argumentative and if I continue, Vedo said, he would kick me out of the park. Mind you this is a volunteer. So I left a message on voice mail for the park manager and I immediately got a response from the ranger who was on site today. He said I could move in now if I wanted to. I told Barb, who was the one accusing me if being a bully, that the ranger said it was ok to move and to get my parking pass, and she said "were Rangers too", and she was going to have a talk with him, she said. There are good hosts, and bad hosts, but the site Rangers seem to be very nice. Volunteers claiming to be swarn officers, and having power trips threatening to kick our family out is not my ideal camping situation.I also have two special needs kids who hate to move anywhere. I hope they improve by adopting a policy that gives the volunteers less authority and making sure only the rangers can remove a customer from site. Also, to make sure the hosts know they should not identify themselves as a Ranger, when...
Read more"Our recent trip to Lake Jennings was an absolute delight, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the stunning natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. The campgrounds are meticulously maintained, offering a clean and welcoming environment that truly feels like a getaway. We stayed in a beautiful spot with a fantastic view of the lake, and the amentities were perfect for our family's needs. The highlight for us was definitely the fishing. My kids had an amazing time, and the staff was so helpful in giving us tips on the best spots. The lake is well-stocked and a true joy to fish. Beyond that, we spent our days exploring the hiking trails which are well-marked and provide some of the most breathtaking views of the area. Evenings were spent gathered around a campfire, stargazing in the clear night sky, which felt like a world away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The staff deserves a special mention for their friendly and attentive service; they genuinely care about making sure every visitor has a great experience. Lake Jennings is more than just a campground; it's a sanctuary where you can relax, reconnect with nature, and create lasting memories. We're already planning our...
Read moreOverall bad experience. Camp hosts are unfriendly and don’t really care about the campers concerns or safe accommodations. We were surrounded by a pack of 20 coyotes and created noise to scare them. They caught a kill for food right next to us and all howled a loud cry to let the other pack members know. The camp host came to our site and threatened to call the police on us and remove us from our campsite for creating unecessary noise. They were steps from our tent! The night before a coyote Slashed a hole In our tent while our small dogs were inside so obviously we were concerned. If you can avoid coming here take my advice and STAY AWAY!!! Awful experience. they say it’s dog friendly and that dogs are not allowed at the lake but risk the pets at the camp sites while unattended. We left in fear and ended up sleeping in our car without finding a new campsite option so late at night. Not only is it a threat to small dogs but a a danger to small...
