The 5800 Apartment Homes — Attraction in Lakewood

Recently moved out and let me tell you what you DON'T see! First, the intercom system is non operable and never functioned during my time there (4+ years). Receiving packages or visitors is a hit or miss. The garages are separated with cardboard boxes (no joke). I shared a garage and had to shimmy in and out of my car if my garage mate had already parked. Every resident has a garage opener, but only a select few residents have access to the garage keypad in the event your opener is lost or not working. My garage mate agreed with me that the openers are extremely sensitive and as a result our garages which also double as storage have oftentimes been open overnight inadvertently. Next, there are no security cameras in the hallways, which a good majority of the units have entrances off hallways. After being in my unit for 4+ years, my request to have my unit painted was denied. Mind you, I do not smoke yet the walls over time developed a dust-like appearance for some strange reason. The interior needs an upgrade to the A/C and heater as they are old and antiquated. The rent isn't justified by the features and amenities of the apartment. I would have felt safer with the installation of cameras and to have a working intercom system for visitors/deliveries. The apartments are nice but the parking is HORRIBLE. They need to make another parking lot for more cars. They have some people parking inside the complex but you have to be renting a two bedroom in order to get a parking spot in the complex with a garage parking. If you have a one bedroom, they only give you one small garage space that you share with another person/family but don’t take into consideration that most one bedroom apartment renters are married or have two people living there that have two vehicles. If your lucky you can find a space in front of the apartments on the street but majority of the time you have to park far away almost by the Denny’s on south street. We have been here since 2021, it’s a great place to live, our unit was newly renovated and spacious, management team are awesome, starting with the office people, Karina, Karen and Shereen, made everything easier for us during the application and anytime we needed something, they provided it immediately with no questions asked. It’s a nice complex with green lawns, gym , pool and jacuzzi.It’s safe to walk our dog around. Delfina, site staff is so friendly and courteous and very diligent on her work. Hector, the maintenance guy, is prompt with the service and finishes everything on time.
