LaPrele Park — Attraction in Laramie

A nice community park, it seems, with reasonably good reviews. But it's a nasty neighnorhood on the Holiday Dr.. After playing golf, my husband and I decided to do picnicking in a park. We found this one and stayed inside our class B Mercedes sprinter RV for dinner instead of using the park's gazebo. After we were done, my husband noticed a truck with headlights brightly on immediately behind us. It was there for a few minutes looking as if it was chasing us. As it was strange (the long street was empty for parking elsewhere), I looked through the rear window and saw a STAR on the vehicle. A sheriff's vehicle!? Why? We realized that there were dog walkers who might have noticed us and called the sheriff's office for no reason. Or, the home owners nearby. The sheriff's truck left. Then, we heard a dog barking. My husband said a neighbor seemed to have released his or her dog. As we were done with our picnicking and it was getting dark (8:30 pm), we also left. As we were driving away, my husband saw a white vehicle with POLICE written on passing by us. He uttered, "someone must have called a police." Why? Because we are Asian Americans from D.C. (living nearby the White House)? The first such experience in 120 days of our road trip. Most parts of the US are far better than this neighborhood,...

This is a well thought out disc golf course. It's easy to play for beginners, as the baskets are relatively easy to spot and while the course is challenging it won't eat your discs. Even most thrown in the water or O.B. are easy to find. While the course probably wouldn't eat the pros alive, add a little Wyoming wind and it could be a rough day for anybody. Above all else, it's a great course to take my dog out when it's not to crowded....

I used to love this park, the fishing pond nearby and seating areas with lots of open green grass was always a lot of fun.

I don't like how rich folks are building their properties closer and closer to the park. I remember how it was 15-20 years ago, a simpler more peaceful time.

I like the parking area, but I don't like the encroachment of new homes...
