I want to share a bit more about my experience with Dr Perera…. After more thought about how she is going to handle my medications, I think another chat at my next 2 week appointment will be necessary…. I realize I am new to Dr Perera but as explained in the beginning of our realationship, I am not new to Asension & was with my last primary Doctor until he retired, which was just recently, so all my medications are up to date & have been researched & discussed & reviewed until we came to the right dosage for my body. Now Dr Perera is wanting to start from square 1 and put me on the lowest dosage, an extended release & work our way up to the dosage I am at now! This means; going backwards for 6 months until she can see with her own eyes what my past Doctor & I already have seen & taken the time to investigate!! I know as a regular new patient I would normally have to accommodate this request but due to the fact that it was discussed before I even walked through the door seems to me a bit dis-honest on her part! I was told up front that she would not diagnose my type of medication if I was merely asking for it as a new patient…. I explained, I was not new to Asension or the medication. And taking me on as a patient now would be appreciated as I did not make this choice to change doctors…. I was forced to make this change & would like to merely slide in as an ongoing patient…. (Those are not exact words but you get the gist!!) It was agreed that she would take me on and prescribe my medications…..! Now she has asked me to trust her & go through what I have already gone through to sum up the dosage…… !! We are talking about going from my dosage now down to the lowest they make & only giving my body once a day instead of the three times daily dosage that my doctor & I came to the conclusion of after 6 months of trial & error….! Are you getting the picture here? I will have to go back to what I already know will not work for me & suffer for the time it takes Dr Perera to come to the same conclusion my doctor & I came too!! All this information should be in my chart?? Right?? And I have one more question…..If one goes to a phychiatrist wouldn’t one think that being able to chat with this kind of a doctor would be normal? I realize they also can prescribe medication & that is an advantage to seeing a phychiatrist instead of a phycologist !! But Dr Perera has made a referral for me to have a concilor & phychiatrist?? I have never heard of having a councilor as a Doctor?? So there’s another conversation we should share before moving forward….The concern about my medication, is, I think, above board & realistic!! And having to pay for two doctors when I believe one doctor can handle all of it seems to be a legit concern as well!! I will have to follow up on this reveiw as it is played out!! At this point again after much more thought, I am wondering if this is a good match or did I not understand plain English when discussed at beginning?? We will have to wait & see...

This was by far the worst experience I have had at Ascension in general. This is also very odd because the reviews are so high. I came here because my primary internal medicine doctor is booked for months out. My appointment was at 9. Firstly, the address on Google takes you to a foreign location with no buildings in sight. I had to call to get directions. The lady in the phone had no idea how to truly help me although she worked there. We sat on the phone in silence until I told her I would figure it out and hung up. I finally got there right at 9 due to that inconvenience. I was the only one in the lobby and went back around 9:10. I was met by Debra who continued to look at my children like something was wrong with them. She would give a quirky smile but continued to look at my kids whenever she asked me questions (strange). My kids were quietly playing on their iPads. I had to state a lot of my answers repeatedly because her focus was on my kids. The look on her face was odd as well as if she had never seen children before. Once she left, I proceeded to wait for the doctor OVER an hour. Mind you, nobody was in the lobby but me. I had to ask a nurse how much longer it would be. The nurses were out there sitting and talking. Debra comes in and asks “are you on a time crunch or something?” I tell her that’s it been over an hour and my appointment was at 9. Nobody was in the lobby. Dr. Pererra finally walked in and asked basic questions and gave me a lukewarm annual exam. I had to ask for a lot of questions myself for advocacy and ask for bloodwork etc. Dr. Perrera was not going to order labs since I had them done in April, which shouldn’t matter when it comes to health. Especially if some of the results were out of range in April and a follow up was needed. This was the case for me if Dr. Perrera read the notes. When I left the room, I had to advocate for myself to get my blood drawn in the facility because Dr. Perrara never informed me that I could get my labs done while I was there. She told me to go to a different CPL. I wouldn’t know that as a new patient at this facility. In the days following, my labs made it back, however, it’s been 3 days and I’m still waiting for the doctor to go over the results and findings with me or at least publish them. As you know, this can be nerve wrecking waiting for results of any kind. They have yet to return my voicemails, calls, or secure messages. It’s ridiculous and very disappointing. Yes, i am currently still waiting. I will say the front desk was nice but that is about it. I will not be returning ever. However, I do want my lab results in the next day or I will look into how to take it further up . Please...

This medical office is ridiculous, I would never bother with them ever again. Incompetent, uncaring, pathetic.

Here's the story: I am in the market looking for a new doctor, I saw Ascension Medical Group had pretty good reviews, so I made an appointment there. Over a month later when my appointment finally came, their robocall left a voicemail for me with the wrong address, apparently it was cut off. I didn't know this and made my plans to go to this partial address, it showed up on Google maps as a real address, no reason to doubt. I headed over today for my new patient appointment and I got to the address and after driving around the parking lot I found myself in, I realized I was in the wrong place. I checked across the street, still no luck.

At that point, my appointment was minutes away and I called Ascension Medical Group to ask for help, I was lost and couldn't find the office. The person who I spoke to couldn't help me she said and would transfer me which she then tried to do, but nobody picked up so she picked me up again and couldn't give me the address, but told me it was by a Jersey Mike's. I searched for Jersey Mike's near me, the clipped off address on the voicemail had lead me to Cedar Park and there were multiple and none that close, I needed more help. She offered there was a Great Clips nearby too. Jersey Mike's and Great Clips, no address ok. It was on Ronald Reagan so at least I had the right street. I let her know I think I found the right place and I was on my way.

I did find the right Jersey Mike's (right next to the new HEB... she couldn't have said that? or the address?), and I was only 25 minutes late. Not great, but I'd called and gone through all that drama trying to find the right location. I went to check in and I was informed the doctor had already canceled my appointment, would I like to reschedule?

I don't think this woman was the one I talked to on the phone and she probably didn't deserve my sass (sorry), but I laughed hard and said "f no" and walked out.

I don't know how these guys do with actual medical decisions and such, but when it comes to customer service and being a compassionate human, absolutely pathetic. I wouldn't dream of...
