I recently attended the Light the World event at Astonia Park, and it was nothing short of magical! From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the dazzling light displays that beautifully illuminated the park, creating a festive and enchanting atmosphere.
The event is meticulously organized, with a variety of light installations that are both creative and breathtaking. Each section of the park features different themes, all designed to inspire and uplift. The attention to detail in the displays is incredible, and itâs clear that a lot of effort went into making this event truly special.
One of the highlights for me was the sense of community and warmth that permeated the entire event. Families, friends, and individuals of all ages gathered to share in the holiday spirit, creating a joyful and welcoming environment. The live music and seasonal treats added to the festive mood, making it an all-around delightful experience.
Additionally, the message of âLight the Worldâ resonated deeply, reminding us all of the importance of kindness, generosity, and the true spirit of the holiday season. The event successfully combined visual splendor with meaningful moments, making it a memorable experience for everyone.
The staff and volunteers at Astonia Park were friendly and helpful, ensuring that the event ran smoothly and that all visitors had a wonderful time. I highly recommend attending the Light the World event â itâs a five-star holiday experience that will leave you feeling inspired and full of festive cheer!

Read moreThe craft in the sculptures is exquisite. The garden is beautiful. I especially liked the portrayal of the story of Lazarus rising from the deadâyou can view Jesus looking down into the tomb from the perspective of Lazarus.
I was disappointed that the portrayal of Jesus appeared to be a Caucasian, European man, rather than a more accurate depiction of a middle-eastern 1st century Jew.
The garden is mostly tailored to a Mormon audience, but I do think most mainstream Christians could find value out of it (just skip the "First Vision" display near the end).
Speaking of the First Vision, I felt the display was highly sugarcoated. Many Mormons don't realize there are multiple accounts of Joseph Smith's first vision that differ greatly. This display perpetuates the sugarcoated narrative of the...
Read moreStunning light display set to music in a garden environment. I knew the lights would be good, maybe even great, but after my first visit, I would label them exceptional. There is a long field of LED Lights inside translucent "bowls" that are choreographed to music. Similar, in a way, to the display on Fremont Street in Las Vegas. There are many other themed light displays throughout the tour. There is even a religious area apart from the main path that is inspiring in it's own way. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints will get the most out of it, but the Biblical theme is most prominent. Price is steep, but there are ways to save money. Parking appears to well coordinated. Egress wasn't much...
