Safety is not implemented here. It is far too easy for kids to get around the shelter and make it down the the lake if no one is watching. They need to create a gate or something warning parents about the potential danger posed to kids. Also the park is just too far way. You either choose to be with your kid at the park or socialize while not being able to watch your kid... obviously I’m upset because I spent the day with my kiddo at the park rather than enjoying socializing with friends(which is why I came) lol I know people will say find a baby sitter but yeah that’s easier...
Read moreWe parked at Shelter 8 and took the trail to the right that begins with a bridge. The trail is a nice length, not too long or short. My kids (6 and an athletic 2) were able to traverse it pretty easily. Not stroller friendly at all. Entire area is paved from the parking lot to the kids area to the restrooms to the shelter house so safe for those with mobility issues.
