I love Regatta Park. Before moving to the area I came to visit from Idaho. My son and his girl first brought me when they began dating in 2002. I have pics of them when it was just the wooden area. The scenery was gorgeous. As we'd get to the highest peak of the wooden tower, it overlooks Devil's Lake. It's a Majestic site with history. Fishing boats with men and their families out for the day. My gorgeous farmer daughter-in-law being born and raised off Siletz Hwy adored her local park. They had my grandson in 2017. I got to chase him up and down the wooden planks and hear his laughter. The last time we came as a family he was 4 and they had added the newer amenities with the asphalt grass. Futuristic rides at the time brought us even closer as we spun him around and pushed him as he yelled with excitement, "Higher Mommy!" She and my son would hold each of his little hands and swing him as they walked. Sometimes we'd pack a lunch or coffee and enjoy them in the picnic areas. It's always clean and soft to a fall. With restrooms and plenty of places to park in a forest area with lush green grass. Across the way, there's a chime maker our family enjoyed. We sadly lost our gal in Aug of 2020, along with my second grandson. She went to Heaven to present him to Jesus. Still to this day he and Daddy frequent Regatta Park at least a few times each week. When I get him for the day it's always where he wants to go. It's filled with amazingly polite children for him to play with and gracious parents who watch over all of us . Playing together as the Lake lays pristine you can sometimes through all the laughter hear Mama and grandbaby in the wind as our hearts swell, feeling closer to her and he with so many cherished memories. All are kept in this beautiful park we fondly call Regatta. Thank you. (I wish I had photos to share but I recently purchased a new phone. You'll have to trust me and stop by while you visit our lovely...
Read moreThe view is AMAZING, seriously. The playground needs some maintenance but definitely worth a few visits because it's an unique adventure for kids , we especially loved the artificial grass that makes it safe for crawling babies (that otherwise would just spend their time putting everything in their mouth) ,kids love it and when they have enough you can go to the sand area by the lake that is way more kids friendly than the beach, easy to get stuff from the car to the sand area for a picnic as it's all close together. We love that they provide life jackets to use for free , we would love to see some dog bags provided . Bathrooms were really good one day and terrible the day after. There is a lovely lady who comes there to take care of weeds and plants ...
Read moreA little bit about my experience at the park... It was a recommendation by a friend who was with us. She grew up in the area, and she said it was a must see place. She was right we had a great time. I will never forget the experience of spending the time at this park with two of the best women I have ever known. Took the time to enjoy the water and the scenery. The only thing that I can and will do differently on my next visit is that I will be bringing fishing gear. That would have made it that much better. My day trip was amazing and I will be back to do some fishing hopefully sooner...
