My toddler and I love this zoo. It's not to big and keeps my 2 year old busy and engaged. They have a sand pit/fossil dig, small play equipment for toddlers, a water area, a larger climbing structure with a slide, and an indoor play area. Make sure to bring a towel and some toys for the sand area as most of the toys in the sand pit are broken. I really would like the place to be more stroller friendly for the different indoor areas by fixing/adding wheelchair door buttons. The button on the red panda indoor exhibit has been broken for awhile. There needs to be one for the indoor fox/Meer cat/kangaroo/reptile building. There should be one for the nursing room as well in the secret jungle or a way to prop the door open temporarily to get a stroller in. I removed a star mainly for safety issues. If the main parking lots are full and you park by the garden/employee parking, there is not a sidewalk to safely walk children to the zoo entrance. I don't mind the walk, but I do mind having to walk my kids in the stroller in the street, crossing into the roundabout, back in the street to finally get to a sidewalk. That's super dangerous. While that parking area may only be used by zoo customers occasionally, there needs to be a safer way installed to get to the entrance.

Such a cute zoo! I'm used to the massive crowds and not being able to see all the animals 95% of the time since I live in Omaha. Lincoln Children's Zoo was a positive difference! The animals were lively and you could actually interact with several of them! Plenty of activity to entertain my kids and shockingly clean! I would absolutely recommend checking out this zoo, especially if you have young kids. I will definitely be visiting again next chance I have. Suggestion to you, zoo crew! Our otter friend needs a buddy! Lol. I'd be willing to volunteer. Also, I find it a little odd that you have a horse that gets nervous with people walking next to him, being incorporated for children to ride. Previously owning horses myself, I worry that its potentially a disaster waiting to happen. And its absolutely nothing against the horse, they have different quirks just like any of us! It just kinda stuck in my brain as a curiosity. :-)

Had a great day at the Lincoln Zoo. We started in the secret monkey exhibit, which was also an indoor playground that my son loved. Just beside they had a room where you can ped some othe the more tame animals, we pet a bunny and a snake. Loved feeding the giraffes with the bundles costing $5. We split them in half to spend more time feeding, because it was so cool. Tons of play spaces for the kids to get the wiggles out between exhibits. With a small artificial stream fed by a tiny waterfall meant for the kids to cool off and and enjoy. Rocks were slippery, but the water was only between 6-10 inches, perfect for little ones. Loved all of the trees and the shade which saved us from scorching in the sun, and tons of benches to enjoy as the kids explored. The train ride was also a great time, as we did 2 loops around the track which circles more than half the park. Too much to see in one day, highly recommend.

For a small zoo this really is a great one. Yes I’d love for the animals to be able to live in the wild sure, but I feel these critters are being well cared for. You are now allowed to feed the giraffes, which is sooo cool!! I love the little center where you can go in and talk to the lady and hold & talk about whichever critter she’s holding at the time. I’ve been in there when she had a snake and then this day she had a tarantula😯😬😳 not for me😱😱😱 You learn so much about them. The children can feed the goats and you can stand in a life size eagles nest. WoW 😲 They are expanding their zoo so that’s super cool! It is a fun place to go indeed, to help your kids to appreciate the wonderful creatures God has put on this planet. It is a lot pricey though. Some kids probably can’t afford to even come to the zoo. I find that very sad.

This is one of my favorite zoos! I have been to many zoos around the country and this one seems so unassuming; but the more I go the more I love it. You can see many rare animals very closely, it makes it feel special for the kids. Go in cooler weather, the animals are more active then. This zoo is hardly ever busy so you can spend a lot of time observing and reading and talking about each animal. The staff, especially in The Hive building, are very knowledgeable and will tell you many interesting facts about each creature. The natural play places are so fun. I like the relaxed feel each time we visit. I have kids ages 15-3 years old.

Pros: A great zoo in the heart of Lincoln! Worth the membership. Great interactive experiences, including pony rides and feeding the giraffes and goats. Our favorite animals there include the red pandas and the gibbons! Nice shade cover throughout the zoo for hot mornings. The secret jungle indoor playground is so much fun for the little ones (and adults, too, thanks to the Mill)! Cons: Several buildings don't have handicap accessible doors, which makes it difficult to navigate for wheelchairs or strollers. They have wheelchairs and wagons for rent, but not traditional strollers.
