Went into the store today Saturday May 17th 2025 around 7pm-7:30pm to order 2 adult subs and a kids sub meal. On Saturday the deal for the day posted on the outside of the building also inside the store and at the register for Saturday is a free kids meal with the purchase of an adult meal. The manager took my order. Which was a one hot sub meal 8 inch, one 16 inch one meat topping sub and a kids sandwich meal ham and cheese. Once my order was finished being made I paid for my meals in cash at the register with another female employee a total of $33.01 asked for my receipt and change and went to leave the building. Once I step right outside the door to leave looking at my receipt noticing I was charged for the kids meal I turned around and went right back to the register to tell them I was overcharged for the kids meal. The female employee at the register proceeded raise her voice at the register saying I was supposed to tell her about the specials posted in several locations inside and outside of the store. I even showed her the one post right there beside the register that we were standing at. She then proceeded to scream pointing her finger at me behind the counter because I showed her the sign on the register telling me it was my fault I wasn’t telling her about the specials. So I said you work here so why would you not know the one special for that day of the week. Then she proceeded to storming to the back of the restaurant where the manager took over my transaction. The same gentleman that took my order a younger red headed gentleman. He told my I can’t talk to his employees or any other customers in the building anymore the he would just refund the $5.48. I didn’t understand why both employees were were mad and upset over a $5.48 refund. If wasn’t anything worth getting mad about. After refunding my money the manager kept my receipt so I then exited the store. There wasn’t anything wrong with my food but due to the pore customer service experience I encountered today I won’t be returning to any locations in Lincoln Nebraska. I really hope that the training of...
Read moreFirst impressions are everything. Walking up to order, there were flies and a literal wasp all over the bags of bread. I ordered an 8" pepperoni on Garlic Pepper bread, when I took my first bite the bread was firm, stale and difficult to chew. I reluctantly went up to the counter and clearly interrupted one of the managers talking down to her employees while they bickered directly behind the register. I immediately apologized, reiterating they don't have to remake anything but I'm not comfortable eating the sandwich. The immediate response I received was extremely rude and dismissive, without even looking up to speak to me, "Okay?", "No it's not, I baked it this morning.","so?" She offered to have the sandwich remade on white bread only after rolling her eyes at me, then yelled across the store to have someone else (who was busy) remake it. While the other employee made my sandwich the manager scolded at her for not finishing the precious task and said multiple people are waiting on her now, which just caused more bickering in front of me. I'd give zero stars if I could. Goodcents was my first job, I was there for about 5 years. I know how the bread is made and that bread was not fresh. I'm not an idiot, don't treat me like one because YOUR bread was poor quality. Learn how to treat paying customers before you don't have any. By the way, responding to every single review on Google and Yelp review with, “We take great pride in providing excellent customer service each visit.” Is a blatant lie. You make no effort to correct the consistent errors this store makes or even apologize for the bad experiences. Listing your customer service number is a cop out. Clearly you and your employees skipped the training on customer interactions and business ethics because this is just pathetic. Deal with your issues...
Read moreI ordered a 16" Penny Club. The sandwich included a single layer of three meats. They were cut so thin I could read the sandwich wrapper through the slices and I was only initially able to identify 2 of the three meats. Imagine ham and roast beef cut so thin you can't tell one from the other!
Their website shows pictures of thick multiple layers of meat and advertises they now offer 30% more meat. That's almost certainly a lie. I believe it's unlikely they could have ever cut that meat 30% thinner in the past. They'd probably have needed specialized scientific equipment to have cut it that thin. To match their product pictures on their website they'd need at least 4x more meat portions than what they actually give you.
They are also stingy with all the vegetable toppings except for lettuce. I ordered a 16" sandwich with standard dress with black olives and cucumber. Each 4" cut had one or two black olive slices on it. All the other vegetables except the lettuce and tomatoes were similarly absent.
I'll give them a second chance at this location in a few weeks just so I can show you with pictures how you can read the sandwich wrapper through the meat and count the vegetable toppings.
One last complaint. What is Standard Dress? It's a question easily answered on several websites, just not on the actual...
