I recently visited the Sensory Playground in Naperville, and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations! This playground is designed to be an inclusive space for children of all abilities, and it does an amazing job of combining fun with sensory stimulation. One of the standout features is the variety of sensory activities available. There are interactive panels, textured surfaces, and different sound elements scattered throughout the playground that allow kids to engage in a meaningful way. The musical instruments, especially, were a hit with my little ones, as they could explore rhythm and sound in a fun and approachable way. The layout of the playground is very accessible, with wide paths, ramps, and smooth surfaces, which makes it easy for kids with mobility challenges to explore. The variety of equipment encourages social interaction, too, which is great for helping kids practice communication and teamwork in an open, welcoming environment. I also appreciated the safety features. The ground is made of soft, impact-absorbing material, which gives parents peace of mind while the kids run around and have a blast. The whole area is well-maintained, and there are plenty of benches and shaded spots for adults to relax while keeping an eye on the children. Whether you have a child with special needs or just want to enjoy a more interactive play experience, the Sensory Playground in Naperville is worth checking out. It's a great addition to the community and offers something...
Read moreThis is such a cool playground. I would have rated it at 5 stars except there was only an outhouse for restroom facilities. The concept is so fun, to have a sensory focused playground full of sounds and textures, and unique play elements. The ground surface is rubber (see photos). Some of the sculptures are upcycled items, my son especially loved the horse at the entrance of the park. Most of the play structure is enclosed so I didn't have to stay as close to my toddler as I do on some other playgrounds. Meaning I didn't have to catch him before he walked off an edge high up. There was a sign indicating a tree house construction will be underway sometime soon. We are from out of town and are so glad our friend brought us to play at this...
Read moreWas looking for parks to take my 2 1/2 year old cause it's hard finding parks with all little equipment that she won't totally kill herself on. I came accross this park and figured I'd check it out. It's inside a group of buildings so you wouldn't know it's not there if you didn't know. I love how you have to go down the path and it has the feeling you're inside the woods almost. The equipment was perfect for my daughter cause everything was the right size and i felt safe with her on the equipment. I think there needs to be more shady trees or something cause if it's a hot day, the equipment gets hot. But all in all, a great place to take younger kids 2 to 5. And I cant wait til they build the...
