A Soulful Celebration of Health, Food, and Community!
Veggie Fest Chicago blew me away. I’ve attended many festivals over the years, but nothing quite compares to the energy, intention, and sheer heart this one offers. From the moment I walked in, I was surrounded by warmth, positivity, and a shared passion for healthy, conscious living.
The food? Incredible. So many vendors, all offering unique, delicious plant-based options—from comforting Indian curries to raw vegan desserts to innovative meat alternatives I didn’t even know existed. It wasn’t just a food fest—it was a true celebration of what plant-based cuisine can be.
Beyond the food, the speakers and wellness workshops were deeply enriching. I walked away with new insights on meditation, holistic health, and conscious living. The meditation tent in particular felt like a sanctuary—a rare, peaceful moment in the middle of a bustling crowd.
What I loved most, though, was the community. Families, longtime vegans, curious newcomers—all gathered together in such harmony. No judgment, just joy.
Veggie Fest is more than an event—it’s an experience. If you care about health, compassion, and living a more intentional life, do not miss this next year. Truly a gem in the...

Read moreIt was great a vegan festival 10 years back. Then it got taken over by people pushing dairy. In one of the tents where they give talks, a moderately overweight 17 year old Indian girl gave a talk proselytizing about vegetarianism while rationalizing why dairy is OK. Then a big heavy yoga guru in traditional Indian garb with a big wide-eyed blank smiley stare on his face walked slowly through the audience waving. Some people in the audience were going nuts like he was a rock star. It was pretty weird. I saw one women order what she thought was a vegan chili cheese dog. In my personal opinion, there is nothing wrong with eating animal products generally if that is what you're into. But I don't think a Veggie Fest should not be pushing dairy. I'm not into meditation, which they now promote heavily. I'm not that into mock meat, which tends to be vegan junk food, but it's available if you're interested. The live music is always good, and there is...
